Nelson: Like Mass. voters, I'm fed up with Washington
By Jordan Fabian - 01/20/10 04:13 PM ET
Centrist Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) said Wednesday that he -- like voters in Massachusetts who elected Republican Scott Brown -- is frustrated with Washington.
Nelson responded to Brown's Tuesday victory over Democrat Martha Coakley as Democratic leaders were scrambling to develop an alternative plan to pass healthcare legislation after Brown is seated as the 41st senator, breaking the Democratic super-majority.
"Clearly, the vote showed that people are frustrated with Washington...and I am too," Nelson said in a statement. "That frustration will likely register across the board for all incumbents. The overriding message from yesterday is that people are upset because Washington is dysfunctional and not working together for them."

Shut up, Ben.
Says the Bribe-ee.
WOW!! Don’t these sniveling politicians have any sense of pride?
You voted for the health care monstrosity, Ben. You are Washington.
Fed up with DC? That’s good, since he won’t be staying there much longer.
STFU you little worm! You twirp!
Good idea. Don’t just vote against your constituents. Insult their intelligence!
If you’re that frustrated maybe you should just quit.
Nelson, it’s people like YOU THAT ARE THE PROBLEM
Your lie that you’re “fed up” is laughable and insulting.
“Clearly, the vote showed that people are frustrated with Washington...and I am too,” Nelson said in a statement.
“I am especially angry at the senator who demanded special treatment for his own state on Medicaid payments,” he continued. “Why should the other 49 states have to pick up the tab for one state, just to buy the vote of that state’s senator?”
“People are fed up with the secret back-room deal-cutting on an issue like national health care, which should be decided on grounds of policy,” he went on to say.
Can’t beat’em, join’em cept there not really joining the reform, no no, they want to just marginalize it.
They’re all having a sudden revelation. The problem is they are still trying to frame the debate. They simply can’t help themselves. Its not that Washington is failing to get things done but that they’re chasing the wrong things to get done.
Hey Ben, you are a BIG part of the reason that people are frustrated with Washington. I think the voters are going to give you the same terse message that Dick Cheney gave to Pat Leahy (credit Ann Coulter for that line).
Resign you idiot! Your the problem!
I will be the first one in line on election day to vote you out, Ben-edict!
I agree since he betrayed most of his constituents. Go away you phony and take Webb, Bayh, Landrieu, and Specter with you. Also take Tim Johnson of SD and Blanche Lincoln with you too.
Please if you live in a state with any of these nitwits get rid of them.
Mr. Nelson, we are fed up with you. We watched you get on your soap box about the sanctity of life and abortions and the poor children and your ethical dilemma. Then we watched you bend over and take the wood from Nancy. You make us sick; just shut the hell up and go away.
You must understand, for most of these pols, especially Dems, their political office is their chosen way to provide a living for their families. The ultimate goal for them, like any working person, is to keep their jobs and they will do or say whatever it they think it takes to not get “fired”.
Nelson, YOU LIE.
No do overs... YOU FAILED.
Nelson is part of Washington, and we’re fed up with him.
the sudden revelation will be “I need to spend more time with my family”... or something similar..lol
What a whore.
Ben Nelson is in the Senate not in the House and Reid is who gave him the deal (bribe) for his vote!
Sorry Ben...you are Washington.
Speaking of ignorant sluts, King Obamba pronounced today that the voters are angry about the last eight years. Keep it up, turd. 2012 is not that far away, and every month will be a struggle for you now.
Resign you idiot! Your the problem!
Ben’s in full backpedal mode. Hopefully he’s toast in November.
LOL! He CANT be serious. Sarcasm??!?!?
The people of Nebraska are frustrated with Ben Nelson. Try to leave with a little dignity, if at all possible, Sen Nelson.
Well, well, if it isn’t Ben Nelson from friggin’ Nebraska. Benny, you’re toast. Shut your pie-hole. You had your chance. Nobody is listening anymore to what you have to say.
The libs are just like any other criminals: They’re bold and unapologetic while in the midst of their crime spree, but once caught they’re suddenly sorry and pleading for leniency. Sorry Ben, your time for contriteness was BEFORE you took the bribe.
Oh brother. Nelson thought Washington was just fine a few weeks ago when Reid and Pelosi bribed him for his ‘yes’ vote.
Why should it be across the board for incumbents when not one Republican in the Senate voted for Obamacare. Trying to tie himself in with the people that voted NO like they are all alike is not too smart as anyone with an ounce of brain can see through his ploy.
He wasn’t against DC when he took the deal (bribe) for Nebraska from Reid for his vote. He cut his deal (bribe) and Reid got his vote. Looks to me like Nelson doesn’t like his falling numbers or going out for pizza and being boo’d.
..hey Ben, going out for pizza tonight?, bring your wife
Fellas, isn't it a little late for remorse???
Well he got this part right:
“Washington is dysfunctional and not working together for them”
We need HISTORICAL ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME reform in Washington
1. FairTax (http://www.fairtax.org).
2. Repeal the 16th Amendment.
3. Modify the 17th Amendment to include first nominations by state legislatures followed by votes of the people.
4. Resolve ambiguities in the 14th Amendment to clarify that children born of 2 Non-US foreign nationals are NOT automatically US citizens.
5. Reform the Federal Reserve or federalize it.
6. Abolish the Department of Education and move to cut the number of cabinet position by at least 1/3, including demotion of the EPA.
7. Outlaw Abortion on Demand.
The current stae of affairs in our United States is NOT WORKING FOR ME, MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS. Is it working for you?
Nelson fed up with self. Why not - he’s a politician.
In Japan a disgrace like this would commit seppu-ku
“Please if you live in a state with any of these nitwits get rid of them.”
I would give much to get that lying pos Bayh out of office.
[ I’m fed up with Washington]
Did you send back your bribe yet?
You’re correct. Benator is just backpeddling to try and save himself. It won’t work. He has already sold his soul despite complaints from Nebraskans. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Revolution started yesterday and we won’t forget Benator’s disregard for what the people wanted.
No, Sen. Nelson, it's we who are fed up with you.
There goes da ‘hood.
Your getting close, 'Big Taxpayer Bucks' Ben. Try disgusted with Washington and on the verge of revolt.
Sheesh he thinks that we're stupid.
Nelson is such a snake.
