Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is pressing the Obama administration on questions about the handling of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Christmas Day bomber, and makes some news in the process. McConnell notes that several top national security officials offered disturbing testimony yesterday on Capitol Hill about the decisionmaking process on Abdulmutallab -- or why there wasn't one. This leads McConnell to seek answers to "several troubling questions."
First, why were Miranda rights given to the obvious terrorist after only a brief session of questioning, which predictably ended his cooperation?
Second, at what level of authority was this decision taken to treat him as a criminal defendant instead of an unlawful enemy combatant? Who made this decision?
I asked this question last night of John Brennan, the Presidents senior counterterrorism adviser, three times and he refused to answer. I think that the Senate is entitled to know precisely who authorized this.
A year ago the President decided to revise the Nations interrogation policies, and to restrict the CIAs ability to question terrorists. The administration created a High Value Detainee Interrogation Group to question terrorists. Why wasnt his group brought in once this terrorist was taken into custody?
Americans need to know these answers. (snip)

WOW did Mitch find his testicles!?
In typical O fashion, no one knew anything at yesterday’s hearing.
Nappy knew nothing, nor did anyone else on the panel.
Evidently crotch bomber simply materialized into the criminal justice division all by himself.
we need to know who the actual person was that did the Mirandizing and publish it every time.
I’d have thought the FBI would know better and would have checked with the Bummer admin to be sure this prisoner was where they wanted him to be.
But again maybe there were standing orders from Bummer to do just this in this kind of situation so they cynically went right ahead.
LOL! The media dutifully publish the drivel produced by the WH spin machine that always descibes senior intelligence advisor John Brennan as “the highly qualified John Brennan”
Dennis Blair sounded a trufle nonplussed yesterday, his earpiece must have failed and he did not hear the answers he was being fed by Axelrod et al
Eric Holder is being protected at any cost
I think they may have dropped on Tuesday night (his nuts, that is).
This is going to be interesting, seeing Brown’s effect on old-timers.
Who made the decision to Mirandize the crotch bomber, Mitch?
Eric Holder, that's who.
Clearly it was Eric Holder!
And we know damn well that he both advised Obama of his course of action AND received approval!
I liked the part where McConnell asked one of the people being questioned why nobody has lost their job yet when there are definitely unexcused failures.
The respondent claimed changes were being made.
McConnell said that was not good enough. Somebody needs to lose their job.
BTTT
Probably the Romulus, MI Police Department.
Absolutely. We need to know his/her name.
Yea, and I think his name is Carmine Lorenzo ....
"You are in my little pond now, and I am the big fish that runs it."
The guy just tried to blow up a plane. Something tells me FBI trumped Romulus in this. I doubt Romulus had any involvement in the interogation.
He does appear somewhat androgynous, doesn't he?
It’s hard to say. You’re probably correct, because he probably didn’t get arrested until well after he was in the hospital, giving the FBI plenty of time to get there to trump the locals.
Hopefully, McConnell has changed, thanks to being publicly “slapped” by Rush for agreeing to leave without standing up to the libs attempting to ram the Obama-care bill through and after the shocking election in the bluest of blue states - a guy running on conservative issues, especially on giving legal “rights” to terrorists, on American soil or otherwise!
