That is interesting. I think it's really just candidate-specific problems, rather than ideological differences. Palin, Romney and Gingrich are all deeply damaged goods with different parts of the electorate, to include different factions inside the Republican party.
Palin has problems with the general electorate, which hurts her with moderate and affluent or highly educated Republicans. Romney has Romneycare dangling around his neck and Gingrich will never recover from his Scozaffava gaff, plus he also has problems with the wider electorate.
I have said for a while that I don't think the Republican nominee will be Newt, Palin, Romney or Huckabee, although (and sadly) he's doing well in this PPP poll and will be competitive if he ends up running - the guy is one of the best campaigners I've seen. I think it will be someone who's not widely known, and therefor doesn't carry the paralyzing baggage some of these others do.
Are you nuts?
I don’t think Palin would want to be the VP cand. again.
All the GOP offers suck as bad as McCain so far.
Just think! Huckster could pardon all the Gitmo prisoners into the US if they only accepted Jesus as their Savior!
He could take his Christian Minister position to the big times. He could forgive the sins of the world!
