Skip to comments.CNBC Elitism: Harwood Claims Public Doesn’t Know Enough to Make Judgment on ObamaCare

CNBC "Squawk Box" co-hosts Joe Kernen and Becky Quick get it. Unfortunately, their CNBC colleague that covers Washington, D.C. for the network doesn't.
On the Jan. 22 broadcast, Harwood appeared on the program to give a status report on the current version of health care reform being negotiated in Congress and what it means in the aftermath of Scott Brown's filibuster-proof busting election victory in Massachusetts on Jan. 20. Kernen suggested that the health care bill might have been forced through if not Brown's election and the public fervor it revealed.
"I think it's unbelievable that it would have gone through and they would have definitely jammed it through if this weird, serendipitous seat hadn't opened up and if there hadn't been a special election, 17 percent of the economy - based on what they wanted to do, based on what these elected officials wanted to do, against what the public wants - they would have just rammed it through, either way," Kernen said.

Neither does most of Congress. All the more reason why it SHOULD NOT BE PASSED.
If any of those rubes are ready to match IQs, just let me know.
SInce they won’t tell us what’s in it, we don’t know enough, therefore we MUST oppose it.
But we do understand it.
We will get royally screwed out of our money and freedoms.
It’s CBS that doesn’t get it.
Becky Quick is definitely not guilty.
Glad to see the hosts schooled this idiot, even if he was too dumb to take away any lesson from it.
CBS News, fake but accurate. Yes we don’t know enough because some group of people did not want us to know enough. Certainly would be nice to have a free and functioning independent news gathering agency committed to transparency that would fight like tigers when politicians went behind closed doors to write law. Too bad we don’t have such a thing. Must be Bush’s fault.
I’m ready to be learned!
John Harwood is just the absolute epitome of the so-called Elites that just think we in the Silent Majority are just rubes. You wonder what this guy has been doing for his entire adult life, watching liberalism crash and burn and ALWAYS FAIL while conservative principles ALWAYS WORK over time... and yet, his biased point of view continues to be spewed over the airwaves at CNBC. I’m sure he was part of the Al Hunt rabble that took over the news section of the Wall Street Journal years ago and this propelled him into CNBC but he’s always been wrong on every topic I’ve ever heard him opine on.
So the robot bartender says "Welcome. What's your IQ?"
The guy responds "Uh, 70".
And the robot bartender says "Too bad about Coakley, huh?"
So Becky ,what your saying is when your being raped lay back and enjoy it. Nice Becky.
Ya, to bad we have to let them breed but, we have to get grimy little hands on there.....er our money from somewhere.
That kind of talk is really out of line...we don’t talk to ladies like that, it is wrong.
This is classic liberalism. The great unwashed are too stupid to make the “right” decisions in their lives so the liberal elites must make them.
The stupid American peasants are not smart enough to DESERVE the protections in the Constitution. They NEED King Obama and his Congressional jesters, Hairy and NannyGoat.
Me too. I’m too dumb to get it...........HA
I think they don’t get it
LOL. I recognized your sarcasm.
it’s just because the public hasn’t heard him properly
Anyone serious about reducing the cost of health care would start with tort reform. Many doctors have to carry liability insurance that exceeds $100,000 a year... Gee, I wonder where our money is going...
Sad to watch a once reputable journalist for the WSJ go off the deep end for obama. I think he’s been olbermanized over at msnbc.
We were told we could read the healthcare bill online - the final version not a work in progress - and that CSPAN would televise the congressional deliberations. None of that happened.
We know that congress has no intention of subjecting themselves to this monstrosity yet that’s not supposed to give us pause either?
We’re just simple folk. Good thing we have politicos and talking heads to explain things for us.
What is there not to understand about obamadeathcare and war on senior citizens?
Or the 111 new agencies and the IRS involvement? Not to mention all those brand new taxes or fees which is the same thing, just a new name for a tax.
