I was (almost) there. Just stepped out front of my son's new home in Manassas VA and heard a distant "whoomfph" like an 18-wheeler smacking a Volkswagon on the Autobahn.

Asked myself "Hey, can you hear I-95 from here". Mentioned it to the spouse that there'd been a loud noise.

That was about 5 miles from he touchdown site.

I saw two separate ones come very close to the ground that same night about 5:30 here in Hampton Roads. I was wondering if anyone else saw them.

I hate it when that happens.

Especially If I’ve let my meteorite insurance policy lapse.

You could hear it all the way to Manassas? Amazing. And fortunate no one got hurt. Imagine being on a doctor’s examining table and getting beaned by a meteorite.

No kidding.

As if malpractice and liability insurance rates aren’t high enough, now the docs have to get meteor insurance.

Until last Tuesday, EVERY doctors office in America was going to be smashed by a shower of much larger meteorites.

Not meteorites — congressional ass-teroids.

We need meteor insurance reform. There are over 300 million Americans without meteor insurance.

A funny comment from the source: “It was Pluto hurling a rock at us because he is angry that he is no longer considered a planet”. LOL

Yes, a well-placed Ass-teroid that obliterated (ala the K/T impact series) the Demosaurs would have been optimal!
