A tape said to be from Osama Bin Laden says al-Qaeda was responsible for a Christmas plot to blow up a plane.
In the newly released audio tape aired on al-Jazeera, Bin Laden also warns the US there will be more attacks if it continues to support Israel.
"If it was possible to carry our messages to you by words we wouldn't have carried them to you by planes," the tape says.
The authenticity of the tape has not been verified.
It says: "The message sent to you with the attempt by the hero Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is a confirmation of our previous message conveyed by the heroes of September 11."

Since we haven’t really supported Israel since Obama was elected, I guess this is proof that Al Quaida is going to attack us regardless.

This is either wrong or fake. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was an “isolated extremist” according to our Dear Leader.
Obama will respond by assuring the world that no matter what happens, all attackers who manage to survive will be read their Miranda rights.
Since Panty Bomber was immediately mirandized and lawyered up- it makes it a lot more difficult to ascertain whether or not he was part of alquaeda, another group or was a freelance individual.
It certainly makes sense for Bin Ladin et al to claim credit under the circumstances, regardless of the actual facts one way or another.

As I don't have cable, can someone tell me if this is plastered all over the channels the way it was when Bush was president? Or is the media engaged in circling the wagons around our incompetent leader, as usual?
If true, part of me is asking “is this all you can do”, while the other part is saying “it’s a diversion from something big he is planning.”
This is what concerns me the most. We’re excited about Scott Brown and the possibilities in November, but our fearless leaders are standing around with their pants down around their ankles when it comes to security. They’re pretending terrorism doesn’t exist. I think bin laden is scheming something much bigger than another plane bomb.
Odd this so-called Osama would take credit for a FAILed (through no thanks of security orgs/regs) terrorist attack.
Effectiveness increased for this tape well-timed, between the British terror level increase and the upcoming State of the Union speech.
Barry being so smart should be able to find bin Laden and talk him out of these threats. We all know that Barry could organize a better “world community”. /sarc

Why do I have this feeling that we must know if Bin Laden is alive or not. Voice recognition evaluation would easily authenticate the voice.
I think he’s dead, but he is better thought to be alive than dead and martyred.
Is there anyone on FR who has the capabilities of taking known voice records of him and compare with the one released now?
