Like I said to Carolyn, the federal assault on Sheriff Joe was most timely... a blatant attempt to weaken him, just in time for election season. I’m certain he regrets lending his support to Janet. Sheriff Joe is my favorite.
Did you know being from out of state of az that Arpaio supported Napolitano over Salmon?
i missed that sorry
No problem. I often do the very same thing !!!!
Yes. You neglected to mention a few things.
Hayworth was investigated for years, and they found NOTHING on him
Hayworth was up against a long time mayor of Tempe who was very popular.
The former mayor lied like a rug, and scammed the populace by pretending to run to the right of Hayworth regarding illegal immigration.
McCain is an enemy to the United States. If I had my druthers, I would put the SOB in the gulag.
“You think Charlie Keating might throw a few dollars to McStain, just for old times sake? “
Is Keating still alive?? ;-)
Why doesn’t McCain at 73 consider retirement... These politicians are power-obsessed. Most ordinary people are retired by that age.
He needs to retire, along with some of his ‘good friends’ on the democrat side of the aisle.
You are just out to do all the good you can for conservatism, aren’t you...
“Did you know being from out of state of az that Arpaio supported Napolitano over Salmon?” sabe
As Paul Harvey would say, here is the REST of the story....
“Los Angeles, CA - Dozens of protesters gathered outside the CBS studios in west Los Angeles, July 24, to protest Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who was on set for an episode of HBOs Real Time with Bill Maher. A picket line marched at the studios entrances, accompanied by musicians. Demonstrators denounced Napolitano, the former governor of Arizona, for her support of the racist, anti-immigrant Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona.”
“Napolitanos relationship to Arpaio goes back more than a decade to the days when she was a U.S. Attorney. She headed up a Justice Department investigation in 1995 into the human rights violations occurring at Arpaios, then new, tent city. She went out of her way to defend Arpaio and downplay the atrocities. We run a strict jail but a safe jail, and I havent heard from anyone who thinks that this is a bad thing, Napolitano told the Associated Press at the time.
In all honesty... I think the stories about his wife are true and he doesn’t know any life outside of DC and his buddies there......... he is not a “Zonie”... yes, they have property here, but he has no real attachments here, his life is Washington.
For all the harping on FR over the last few months, I a shocked at how many Freepers all of a sudden think JD is a bad guy because he lost to Harry Mitchell.. for two years now many of us from this state have posted corrections here on why JD really lost and yet these posters show up making posts that make it seem nefarious and trying to throw suspicion on him now that he is running.
That’s interesting to know about their prior relationship and I can see why he returned the favor by endorsing her for governor.
“for two years now many of us from this state have posted corrections here on why JD really lost and yet these posters show up making posts that make it seem nefarious and trying to throw suspicion on him now that he is running.”
Thanks again, Carolyn. Remember......
1 half truth + 1 half truth equals a bare-faced lie ;-)
JD’s on solid ground. Like I posted to SJB the other day, I can only think of one PLUS on McCain’s side, and that’s his NO earmarks ever. I’ve really tried to search my memory to find other things and I can’t. JD was always for the WOT and supporting the troops etc.
“The former mayor lied like a rug, and scammed the populace by pretending to run to the right of Hayworth regarding illegal immigration.”
This is a good point to remember. The former mayor, Harry Mitchell did just that with lots of big democrat money, like Charlie Rangel.
“Former Tempe Mayor and state Sen. Harry Mitchell is also trying to use one of Hayworth’s signature issues illegal immigration against him, saying that after six terms in office, Hayworth and the Republican Party have done nothing to curb the problem, which affects Arizona more than most states. ....The results were initially so close that Hayworth would not concede for a week while early ballots were counted. “

FRom the 2006 race:
“Aside from the fact that J.D. is right on the issues, he also brings some humor to the House, said fellow Arizona Republican, Rep. Jeff Flake. So wed sure like to keep him around.
