Sarah Palin, Enigma (Supporters having serious doubts, McCain endorsement, Kittens have NO doubt)
The New American ^ | 25 January 2010 | Bob Adelmann

When Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin announced her support for three prominent Republicans, her Facebook statement entitled “Ride the Tide with Commonsense Candidates” resounded with laudibles such as supporting those who offer “commonsense government,” and those “who promise to fight FOR the people and AGAINST politics as usual.” by Bob Adelmann

I’m not a huge McCain fan myself, but IMHO it’s incredibly silly to expect Sarah to not campaign with him if he wants her help. He picked her to be his running mate for Pete’s sake.

But she could have waited until the general election. If she really is a "movement" conservative, this action in the primaries really compromises her, IMO.

“A reasonable question thus arises: If Palin is a true blue Tea Partier and a true believer in the “fight for values and policies,” why is she supporting Perry and not Medina?

Palin’s announced support for Senator John McCain’s re-election bid was even more problematic.”

The article asks some good questions. Worth the read.

Did you hear? Sandy broke up with Mike and is going to the prom with Roger!

Same sort of maturity level involved in this current line of "inquiry."

A “concern” whisper campaign.

How original.

McCain is the critical test, tells us what she believes in.

McCian is strong, staunch on defense. Which is important and few are comparable. We have the problem of essentially no one is truly conservative on all issues. The top 4 or 5 are a must.

Economy, immigration, taxes, defense, energy, keeping the dollars strong, right to carry/own guns, blocking the eroding of existing private ownership of land property, and the liberty that has made America great.

There are so many inroads on so many fronts we are indeed slipping over the edge, soon to be in a free fall ...MO

God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

She could endorse him, not actively campaign for him. That would pay back enough for any supposed debt she may owe him for bringing her into the national spotlight. His silence in not defending her was deafening – in light of that, he’s luck to get anything from her. Among her supporters (conservatives) this will hurt her.

I seem to recall seeing Sarah interviewed after the very close Hoffman loss in New York. She said in that interview that she would endorse the more conservative candidate over the party candidate any time. I wish she had not agreed to campaign for McCain until she knew if there was a more conservative candidate running....it puts her in an uncomfortable position.

Ride the tide with compromise candidates.

As I posted on another thread, I understand her impulse to help McCain. What she is not considering adequately is that this is not about her and McCain, it is about the United States. Her action is like a doctor referring a patient to an incompetent older specialist because the specialist wrote a recommendation for the doctor to get into law school.

Palin is the doctor, McCain is the specialist and, sadly, we are the patient.

This is irresponsible back-scratching that some might describe as corruption, in the sense that she is recommending the person who she must know is not the best person for the job out of an agenda that does not put the interests of the nation first.

Sad.

EVERYONE has a blind spot, maybe McCain is hers. Hopefully he’ll lose to Hayworth and we can all move on the better for it.

Oh, geez...

I think someone should talk about why J.D. Hayworth is worth voting for and stop beating this dead horse.

Politicians scratching each others backs and you want us to get over it?

Palin is showing that she is no different than any of the other Rino's.

The problem is that sometimes people can be loyal to the wrong people and thats how shady favors happen in politics where back room deals are made...

she’s in a tough spot and a no win situation whichever way she went on this...

but its stupid to write her off for this...reagan wanted some rino as his vp in 76
