This is as clear a choice as we will ever have. We have dropped the ball a bit on this race but today we have the opportunity to fix this. I'm donating today to this race I hope you do too.

word to the wise - that ad is not good. it says “tearing illinois apart”. better to have the rino pulling it left & the elephant standing in the way resolutely of the rino or something like that

Just a suggestion....

donate amounts in the 912 spirit...

$9.12 or
$91.20 or
$912.00

this sends a message when tons of donations are like this..one donation would just look odd....but LOTS make in these amounts catch attention....

you can make 3 donations of $9.12 if you want to give more than 9 bucks but less than 90.....

NOT my idea— I got it from AmericanGirlRising (she is more Rovian than Karl Rove)

Doesn’t this seem like a foregone conclusion. Primary is about a week away and Kirk is up 40 some-odd points or no? Rubio surging but this guy doesn’t seem to be.

Attention all Freepers! We need to spread the word Fast about Patrick Hughes. Another full court press this last week, just like Scott Brown. Is there a telephone tree? A "money bomb" today, so please contribute! C'mon Patriots, we did it with Brown, we can do it with Hughes. He looks and sounds like a Good Conservative Candidate! February 2nd fast approaching!

From his site Here "If you agree with Patrick that it is time to "Take It Back" and are ready for the America our founding fathers envisioned, pledge your support with a donation of $17.76."

Spread the Word! Another Obama Smackdown in the Works!! Remember the Goal! No Democrat Winner, November 2, 2010!!

That’s exactly what I was about to ask. Why is this campaign just now coming to our attention (those outside IL, that is)? Maybe we could have gotten the word out better if this event was moved back to just a few weeks ago.

It’s just coming to your attention now because he’s a bad candidate who has no chance to win. I’ll stand with the active Naval reservist (Kirk), thanks. RINO or no. A republican will never win in Illinois if we keep sending up unelectable “conservatives” like Hughes, Jim Oberweiss, and even ones that don’t even live here like Alan Keyes.

“More than half of GOP voters said they agreed with the tea party movement, including nearly 70 percent of those who describe themselves as very conservative. But that hasn’t translated into support for Hughes. The survey found Kirk being supported by 48 percent of Republicans who said they backed the tea party movement while Hughes got only 10 percent support.”

It sounds like this situation is somewhat similar to MA and Ross. A RINO is still better than a dim. Eventually the American people will catch on and then the real conservatives will be elected.

My money is where my mouth is... with Mark Kirk. Scott Brown proved that a RINO is better than a dim and let’s face it, Illinois might as well be Massachusetts.

I think I’m with you. It’s important to be tactical as well.

Wasn’t Illinois’ biggest, recent, “electable” GOP guy Jack Ryan, a “moderate Republican” who lost to 0bama?

I will not stand with Kirk in the primary.

Jim had his own issues, unfortunately, and as for Alan, wasn’t he called in late to help cover for the RINO Jack Ryan, with only something like 80 days to run from scratch, yet got over a third of the vote?

Get your facts straight. RINOs are the problem in Illinois.

It sounds like you won’t even give the conservatives a try.

Bad news.

http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/01/illinois-senate-primary-poll.html

“It’s a different story on the Republican side where Mark Kirk has a 42-9 lead over Patrick Hughes. Hughes has tried to make himself the candidate of the right wing of the party and while he is more competitive with conservatives than he is with moderates, he’s still at a 38-10 deficit with them. Not much to see on this one”

Polled last weekend. Lefty pollster, but his numbers are usually honest.

I’m far away in TX so somewhat out of loop here. I would support Kirk if I was there IF he now opposed Obamacare, cap ‘n trade, card check, and any other host of democratic malfeasance. I understand he voted for cap ‘n trade in the house but is against it now. Is that correct? That’s a little fishy but he may sway with the wind but still better than a Dem. The dynamics this year are better than when the last moderate ran and lost. I wouldn’t support Kirk in TX but I might in IL. Two different states and circumstances. Just my rationale. I don’t know anything about Patrick Hughes but perhaps lots of name recognition now and can run for statewide office later on against Durbin.

The ONLY reason I sent money to help brown was because he promised to kill Obamacare with his 41st vote. It was a stop gap measure for an immediate political need. Otherwise, I would not have given the Rino a dime. There is a hair’s width of difference between a Northeast Republican and the Kennedy family.

Rinos do more harm to our cause because they add to the power of the DNC’s radicals. Brown will be joining Collins, Graham, Snowe, McStain, et.al. to screw us in the near future. If Brown does that, he will lose the election in two years.

Not at all. Hughes only problem is name id and I remember that a week before MA voted for Scott Brown no one believed he could do it. Kirk’s support is weak. An a full press ad blitz could stop him and even if we can’t stop him we can prep Hughes for an independent run which is going to happen regardless of the outcome. Kirk is out of the mainstream and we need to stop him.
