MERCEDES - One Valley family says they were robbed while visiting Reynosa.
They tell CHANNEL 5 NEWS they went to Mexico to buy a pair of boots. They say when they were about to pay for them, a man snatched the money from their hand.
"He took $200 from his wallet. This man just came and just grabbed the $200. And he didn't even run away or anything he just stood there," says the woman.
She tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS when her husband tried to get the money back, they were surrounded and threatened. She says when they tried to tell police they got nowhere.
According to her, "He said, 'Well too bad, ma'am. I mean, you're not in the United States. You are in Mexico.'"
The family says that will be their last trip into Mexico.
They're lucky they came back with all their vital organs. (Except the brains they didn't have to begin with.)
That’s why we are letting the Mexicans in. Because it’s so much better when they rob you and you’re in the United States.

Well, if you wish to support small business in Mexico rather than your local boot maker, by all means. At the very least, you helped to support small business thugs.
I am shocked that people still go to Mexico for vacation, but that’s just me.

This is similar to the experience I have every payday, only the IRS doesn’t bother to show up in person.

I wouldn’t got to Mexico on a bet these days. Especially to save $50 on a pair of boots. They are lucky they came back with their lives.
Spending $200. for boots in Mexico? Yea, right.
People who go to mexico are stupid.
I knew someone who was getting married there and invited me and I told them no thanks. I said I would send a gift and suggested they buy life insurance. They decided to get married in the USA.
I’m shocked that any thinking person would go to Mexico for any reason. Check your rights at the border.

I am stunned that anyone is shocked that they got robbed in Mexico, but that’s just me.
