Colorado, South Dakota Firearms Freedom Act Introduced
The Tenth Amendment Center ^ | January 25, 2010 | Michael Boldin

Posted on 01/26/2010 12:38:28 PM PST by all the best

Introduced in the State Senates of both Colorado and South Dakota last week is a bill known as the “Firearms Freedom Act.” If passed, the bill would make state law that “any firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in the state and that remains within the borders of the state is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of Congress to regulate interstate commerce.”

This now makes Firearms Freedom Acts already passed in Montana and Tennessee, and currently introduced in these 21 states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.

According to Gary Marbut of the Montana Shooting Sports Association and author of the original bill that was introduced in Montana, “It’s likely that FFAs will be introduced soon in West Virginia, New Mexico, Idaho, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina and maybe elsewhere”

South Dakota’s Senate Bill 89 (SB89) was introduced by State Senator Rhoden, and has 22 Senate co-sponsors and 44 House co-sponsors.

Colorado’s Senate Bill 092 (SB10-092) was introduced by State Senator Schultheis and has 9 Senate co-sponsors and 7 House co-sponsors.

...my dad told me that... ammunition now expires after a certain date...

Your dad may have been misled.

The assertion has also been made here by a former employee of a primer manufacturer that they were approached by the feds to make primers with a short shelf-life.

The response was "We've spent the last century making our primers reliable and long-lasting - we're not about to turn that around".

I’m sure a lot of folks would see that as an excellent investment opportunity. They would have to be completely independently owned and operated or you can bet the fed will weasel into it.

I'd prefer to move us one last time to somewhere out around Rapid City.

As much as I have come to dislike the oppressive summer heat in these Piney Woods of East Texas, I've grown accustomed to the relatively mild winters. I must say I was sortof looking forward to the global cooling the "experts" were predicting til they changed their minds. That said, they may be reconsidering their latest pronouncements once again concerning algore warming. Even so, just about anything north of the Red River is pretty much a non starter for me. BRRRR!!! ;^)

Just a hunch but I suspect Colorado may reap some of the benefits of the conservative uprising. The natives of flyover country have become VERY restless, no?

I hope so, but the Denver/Boulder marxist axis is strong.

I hope so too and I sympathize. We have our own axis of weasels in Austin and other metro cesspools. And like Colorado, patriots have them surrounded AND outnumbered. Unlike Colorado, it may be that Texans are more vigilant in keeping a wary eye on our varmints, elected or otherwise.

I’ve been good, Thanks! Tea Partying it up, went to DC, all around Ohio. Stocking up on Liberty Teeth and the appropriate accessories.

I’ve been lurking some myself, haven’t jumped into too many threads.

How you been getting along? Good I hope.

Ohio is getting bad isn’t it? I’ll be lucky if I can give my house away. Place two doors down from me, solid brick colonial style house, sold for $7,000.00 and another across the street went for about the same.

Unemployment in the democrat utopia of Lorain is 13%. 25% of the people now below the poverty line.

ObaMao was here friday promising the sheeple the world. Suckers.

After 145 years, the states are starting to remember that they are NOT subservient to every whim of the federal government.

The fact that nearly all are broke should be one hell of a start.

I’m down in Middletown and I waited way too long to move. If there’s any consolation we can vote for John Kacish in November. (if we’re here)

They are all nearly broke because they started taking “free” federal money with all sorts of strings attached.

I agree 100%. As you know TN is now on the hook for all of the welfare and unemployment increases in due time.

That is some consolation. I’ll be here in November. I still have two years of suffering in the Buckeye State.

A patent has been filed (and perhaps granted) on expiring primers, but I don’t know that anyone is making them, and I’m pretty sure there’s no law in any jurisdiction requiring their use.
