Developing ... James O'Keefe, of ACORN sting video fame, and three other suspects have been arrested by the FBI for interfering with LA Senator Landrieu's phone system on federal property.

Could O’Keefe be that stupid, or is this some sort of frame up?
My money’s on the latter.
For the sake of my government, the arrests had better be based on legitimate evidence of an actual crime.
I’m just sayin’.
This will be on the news ad nauseum for a long time.
Hey I have a great idea: Let’s take the government’s word for what happened!
No details yet!

Thanks!
I guess the MSM will have to be dragged kicking and screaming to this story after a few weeks, just like they were when the original ACORN videos broke.
Oh, wait.
WHAT?!!!!!!!
Will a March on DC come of this?
They do it for scum like Mumia...
It's not beyond belief this particular US Senator can be influenced to participate in further crime. After all she took a $300 million bribe from Obama and his lackeys.
She ought to be among the top targets for all independent scandal breakers.
Under RICO, a person who is a member of an enterprise that has committed any two of 35 crimes27 federal crimes and 8 state crimeswithin a 10-year period can be charged with racketeering. Those found guilty of racketeering can be fined up to $250,000 and/or sentenced to 20 years in prison per racketeering count. In addition, the racketeer must forfeit all ill-gotten gains and interest in any business gained through a pattern of “racketeering activity.” RICO also permits a private individual harmed by the actions of such an enterprise to file a civil suit; if successful, the individual can collect treble damages.
An FBI affidavit says the incident happened Monday. At least two of the suspects were dressed in work clothes and construction hats and claimed they were technicians for a telephone company.
The other three were identified as Stan Dai, 24; Robert Flanagan 24; and Joseph Basel, 24.
We should have seen this one coming. BO’s ACORNS have been having a rough go of it lately. Payback is a ...
Scummy bunch at the FBI....
And another thread on FR says they are hiring 3500 new employees this year.
I’d take that bet. O’Keefe has(had) a promising future, and was very aggressive in getting scoops. Unfortunately I don’t think he would have used enough restraint in the pursuit of a good story.
I think this is what Obama was talking about when he said they will be “fighting back.” This will be an ugly 2010 race and an ugly couple of years leading up to 2012 but we will prevail.
If convicted, the suspects face up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 and three years of supervised release following any prison term, according the Justice Department.
Damn. Just damn. Why did O’Keefe go this route?
FOX always gets the big breaking stories wrong.
One could the DNC in this along with Move On Org..
I really thought O’Keefe was smarter than this. I do hope he has a good explanation/defense.

Right smack dab in the center of the BIG EASY.

“Activist James O’Keefe, 25, was already in Landrieu’s New Orleans office Monday when Robert Flanagan and Joseph Basel, both 24, showed up claiming to be telephone repairmen, according to U.S. Attorney Jim Letten’s office. Letten says O’Keefe recorded the two with his cell phone.”
The FBI has apparently been overtaken by the left.
John Kerry’s brother bugged his opponents headquarters in Lowell MA.

Hummmm,
I wonder how the FBI was so fast on this? Maybe they were already tapping the prostitutes, er senators phone lines and didn’t like the competition?
FBI Violent Crime Squad?
The media could not ignore O’Keefe when he exposed ACORN.
But now I bet they won’t be able to stop talking about him.
So what, someone made O'Keefe and his co-conspirators wear telephone repairman/technician's clothes and forced them to make entry into Landrieu's office? Not likely.
If you read the affidavit, it's quite clear that they were up to some monkey-business. Does that monkey-business rise to the level of a federal crime? Well, if they were indeed manipulating the phone system, or attempting to gain access to a secured area where phone equipment is located, they're going to need some competent counsel.
I don’t know whether they are guilty or not, but I’m not going to jump to slandering the FBI agents involved until I know more. And I must say that if they did as described, that was incredibly stupid and we can’t and shouldn’t defend it.
Yeah, this story and O’Keefe got very little attention when it came to ACORN....but now....we will all know who he is!
Geesh
I’ll bet they were prepping to make a citizen’s arrest.
Is this kid really that stupid? I want to hear the whole story.

Looks pretty dumb on its face. Why do this, when the ACORN sting was soo successful? If they indeed are convicted, it will lessen the power of the ACORN/COI sting in the public’s mind.
Not all of the FBI, just the “eager beavers” looking to score points with the politicians in the bureau, and there are a LOT of them.
Yep, and all the work against ACORN just went out the window.....
I think it's reasonable to assume that Lanrieu's office is in the same building as the New Orlean's FBI office. My guess is someone from Landieu's office called the FBI, as would be protocol when anything strange happens in a federal office. How long can it possibly take for an agent to meander a few floors down to the site of the alleged crime? I don't think it's any great mystery "how the FBI was so fast on this".
You should have participated rather than being a 9 year lurker.
BS
The MSM will have to explain how it is the filmaker was a big deal, when they never showed the films.
The Feds go absolutely ape if there is a hint of unauthorized wiretapping. If O’Keefe was trying to plant a bug, they will crucify him. This is one crime where even the cops will (sometimes) eat their own.
None available huh? A fishing expedition. I smell cheesy charges by ACORN aka Holder.
Thank you for the voice of reason. I agree completely.
This will probably be bigger than Watergate for the Democrats now and just show how evil all conservatives/Republicans are. That’s the way the media will play this up.
This could not come at a worse time. The only good thing is that O’Keefe (as of yet) hasn’t really identified himself with being part of any Tea Party or Republican movement. I know that won’t prevent the media from tying him to them, but they can’t make any ties.
If they attempted to screw around with the phone system, they are in deep doo-doo.
