Well, if no one better turns up, then I guess it’s Tommy Thompson. He’s not a flaming RINO by any means, but he’s not a real conservative either, IMHO.
Maybe he was just doing what Bush told him to do, but he’s the guy who announced not long after 9/11 that there would be no “profiling” by airport security. That was back when people were angry and scared about terrorism, and maybe, just maybe, they could have taken a harder line.
Now it’s pretty much set in stone, unless they nuke a few cities.

Personally, I think its a bad decision. He is not looking at the strategic long term implications for this country. I'd strongly advise Pence to reconsider. He didn't have to come out and announce he's not running so damn fast. He coulda waited and monitored the polls for a few more weeks, and if things still looked like he was going to win, he shoulda then declared he'd run.
He didn't have that kind of time. Filing deadline is Feb 19th. Need time to gather signatures to get on the ballot. Need to let other candidates have that kind of time if he decided not to run.
And nothing much is going to change in a month's time.
Tommy T. is kind of a tease. I’ll believe he’s running when I see it, and not before.
