The other candidates seeking the Republican nomination to run against Blanche Lincoln are nothing special. State senator Gilbert Baker was previously seen as the leading candidate; he's more establishment than movement conservative. I supported Jim Holt in his last bout with Lincoln, but he's had his shot and I'm not convinced he's a particularly good campaigner. Boozman is a solid conservative, if not a firebrand, and is the safe bet to seize this takeover opportunity.

Don’t know a lick about this guy but anyone who has inspirations to move up needs to be in the 2010 race. This is just loaded in our favor.

Boozman has a real shot this time. Lincoln is doing nothing except defensive posturing at this point. I would not be surprised to see her drop out rather than suffer defeat.

Rep. Boozman was my Rep. when I lived in Ft. Smith (I now live in Little Rock). I like him, but I would call him a semi-big government conservative. That might sound like a contradiction in terms, but considering what it means to be "conservative" these days....
He just about wrote me back via snail mail every time I sent him an e-mail, & I appreciate his doing so. I think he's pretty honest, & is an M.D., if I remember correctly. From my communication w/ him, I also think his respect for the 10th Amendment is a lil weak.
He scored a rating of 90% on the FREEDOM INDEX of The New American magazine, so thats not too bad.

I knew Blanche Lincoln is going to retire.

I wish Tim Griffin had known that.
