At Davos, the globalizers are gone
The Washington Post ^ | January 30, 2010 | Ian Bremmer

For 40 years there's been a consensus view at the Davos World Economic Forum that globalization's increasingly free cross-border flow of ideas, information, people, money, goods and services is both irreversible and a powerful force for prosperity. As with meetings of the G7 group of industrialized nations, there was broad agreement on the proper role for the state in the performance of markets. Sure, a French cabinet official and an American investment banker might spar over the relative merits of state paternalism and Anglo-Saxon labor laws, but the bargaining table was still reserved for champions of Western-style free market capitalism.

No more.

Best contact the President and your Representatives and let them know you are

AN AMERICAN FOR SOVERIEGNTY!

Or one day we may be ruled by Islam!

That’s why the Founding Fathers had our Constitution written as it is.

Against the Obama types...And from being ‘ruled’ by any other country or groups of countries.

This is a test. This is a test of the FR failure to read past the headline system. This is only a test.

You are absoutely correct. But how do we keep the foreign influence out of Washington? We have Maxists and socialist teaching our children. We have huge amounts of foreign money pushing our politicians in directions that our not in America’s best interest. We have the media on the opposite side of any story the looks like patroitism or is pro-American. We have illegal immigration that our politicians are looking to turn into votes. We have authors rewriting out history to paint our founding fathers and others in a negative light. I could go on....

I read it. It appears that the globalization rats have deserted the ship for a while. They will be back, and will not give up until the world is one big slum. With the elite on top and the rest of us simply workers.

FWIW, around these parts (Canada) it's the left — especially the socialists, who most venomously oppose globalization (which they equate with American Imperialism).

Read the end of the article, then the author's bio.

Looks like he's pushing his book under the guise of coverage.

And you know, if his last paragraph is right, India will deflate like a punctured balloon.

As will China.

Cheers!

Ian Bremmer is president of Eurasia Group and author of the forthcoming book, "The End of the Free Market: Who Wins the War Between States and Corporations?"

It is always revealing to see the know-knothings at FR link up with Hugo Chavez/Mahmoud Ahmadinejad-type despots and Amemerikan Leftist to propegate their socialist propeganda against free-market capitalism.
