U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Wednesday the arrests of 476 gang members, associates and other criminals nationwide. Agents seized 47 firearms as part of Project Big Freeze, an intensive ICE-led law enforcement operation executed in 83 cities across the country focusing on gangs with ties to drug trafficking organizations.
In the Milwaukee metropolitan area, 21 individuals were arrested Jan. 19 – 21 as part of this nationwide gang initiative. Of those, 14 are in ICE custody and are pending removal proceedings. The remaining seven were arrested by the Milwaukee Police Department on outstanding warrants and state drug charges.
All 14 individuals in ICE custody are Mexican nationals who are members or associates of the Mexican Posse street gang. Twelve of the 14 are in the U.S. illegally; two are lawful permanent residents whose criminal convictions render them eligible for deportation. Most of those arrested have extensive criminal histories; some of their convictions and arrests include: carrying a concealed weapon, theft, robbery with use of force, reckless use of a firearm, and drug possession.
Among those arrested in the Milwaukee area last week were:
· A 26-year-old illegal alien from Mexico who was arrested by ICE agents Jan. 20. As a Mexican Posse member, his criminal history includes convictions in Milwaukee for theftmovable property and additional arrests for possessing cocaine with intent to deliver, carrying a concealed weapon, and violating a restraining order. He remains in ICE custody pending removal from the United States.
· Also on Jan 20, ICE agents arrested a 40-year-old illegal alien believed to be a leader of the Mexican Posse gang in Milwaukee. He is in the U.S. illegally and has prior convictions for drug possession and was previously arrested for attempting to flee law enforcement. He remains in ICE custody pending removal from the United States.
“Street gangs pose a growing public safety threat to communities throughout the Milwaukee metropolitan area,” said Gary Hartwig, Special Agent in Charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in Chicago, which oversees Wisconsin. “ICE will use all our law enforcement tools to thwart criminal efforts of street gangs. Operation Community Shield shows how ICE works with our law enforcement partners to dismantle these criminal organizations and help protect our communities.” Page 2 of 2
“Our strong working relationship with our federal partners like ICE allows us to conduct operations that help us get dangerous criminals off our streets and keep us on track with our mission to reduce crime, fear and disorder,” said Milwaukee Police Chief Edward A. Flynn.
Through Project Big Freeze, ICE agents worked side by side with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners in a coordinated, national initiative against transnational criminal street gangs in the United States. Locally, ICE and the Milwaukee Police Department were assisted in the operation by the following agencies: U.S. Marshals Service; Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation; Milwaukee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force; and the Waukesha police department.
Transnational street gangs have significant numbers of foreign-national members and are frequently involved in human smuggling and trafficking; narcotics smuggling and distribution; identity theft and benefit fraud; money laundering and bulk cash smuggling; weapons smuggling and arms trafficking; cyber crimes; export violations; and other crimes with a nexus to the border.
Of the 476 arrests, 207 were arrested for criminal offenses and face prosecution for various federal and state crimes including narcotics smuggling and distribution, firearms violations, identity theft, aggravated assault, obstruction, entry without inspection and re-entry after deportation. Of those arrested, 151 were U.S. citizens and 366 were foreign nationals and face deportation either now or when their criminal prosecution is complete. In addition, ICE agents arrested another 41 individuals on administrative immigration violations.
Like any street gang, these transnational gangs also have a propensity toward violence. Their members commit a number of violent crimes including robbery, extortion, assault, rape and murder.
Nearly 50 percent of those arrested during this operation were members or associates of gangs with ties to drug trafficking cartels in Mexico, South America and Asia.
The National Gang Unit at ICE identifies violent street gangs and develops intelligence on their membership, associates, criminal activities and international movements to deter, disrupt and dismantle gang operations by tracing and seizing cash, weapons and other assets derived from criminal activities.
Operation Community Shield partners with existing federal, state and local anti-gang efforts to share intelligence on gang organizations and their leadership, share resources and combine legal authorities to arrest, prosecute, imprison and/or deport transnational gang members.
Since inception in 2005 to date, ICE agents working in conjunction with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies nationwide have arrested more than 16,144 street gang members and associates. Of those arrested, 202 were gang leaders and 2,898 were MS-13 gang members or associates. Through this initiative, ICE has seized 949 firearms. To date, of those arrested, 6,805 have been charged criminally, and 9,339 have been charged with immigration violations and processed for removal.

Killer of Border Patrol Agent to face justice
On Jan. 19, 2008, Border Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar was purposely run over and killed near Calexico, Calif., by a vehicle driven by Jesus Navarro Montes. Navarro was fleeing back to Mexico with a load of marihuana to avoid apprehension. Navarro has now been extradited to the U.S. and is being taken to San Diego, Calif., where he will faces charges for drug smuggling and for the murder of a federal official.

A U.S. Marshal “JPATS” (Justice Prisoner & Alien Transport System) aircraft is due to take 67 Ecuadorans who were illegally in the United States back to their country tomorrow (1/29.) Ecuador’s National Department of Migrants pointed out that some [no number was specified] of the deportees were also detained for having committed crimes such as invasion of private property, burglary, illegal possession of firearms, possession of drugs, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Desperation in Honduras
[An article in the M3 Report of 1/27/10 stated that some 150 “undocumented” Central Americans had been forced off a northbound freight train in southern Mexico by a group of thugs, and that some of the riders had been raped and murdered. The event has now been reported in the Honduran press, since one of the murder victims was apparently a Honduran. That article was followed by the following commentary from a Honduran reader]:

Homicides in Guatemala
Guatemala’s Human Rights Attorney, Sergio Morales, presented a report to the Guatemalan Congress. It states that, in 2009, there were 6,498 homicides in Guatemala, and that the figure reaches 18,571 for the years 2007-2009. [Guatemala is slightly smaller than Tennessee.] The department (state) of Guatemala, where the country’s capital city is located, accounted for 41.06% of the nation’s total. The report also warns that organized crime has developed “territorial control” and has the logistical capacity to alter the ability of the government to function by using violence, fear and terror.

In Quiroga, Michoacán, the chief of police and his two body guards fell victim to a heavy gunfire attack with assault rifles. The vehicle in which they were riding was “practically covered by firearm impacts.” This occurs less than 24 hrs. after a human head was found in the main plaza of the same town. Local officials are being tight lipped about the finding of a dismembered human body found in one of the main avenues of Zitacuaro, Michoacán. There’s speculation that this victim may be a member of the federal police or of the military. The man had his extremities cut off, as well as the middle and index finger of his right hand.

The mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Jose Reyes, said that it is hoped that the new “Operacion Coordinada Chihuahua” will reduce the daily number of homicides in the area from 12 down to 6.

Here in L.A., we have been plagued by illegals in gangs who run criminal rackets. From drugs to prostitution they have terrorized this city and the Mayor has done nothing because he got into office with the Hispanic vote. Villariagosa is a worthless POS. A public employee was at his job, sweeping the streets, and came across a cardboard box left right next to the “carnitas” [barbecued pork] stands on the main plaza at Quiroga, Michoacán. There was a human head in the box. “Municipal authorities reported that the rest of the body was found later.”

In Nogales, Sonora [right across the border from Nogales, AZ, and some 60 mi. south of Tucson, AZ, as the crow flies] : an abandoned sedan with no license plate. In the trunk: the bodies of two men. Their heads had been cut off. Later, elsewhere in Nogales, two human heads were found “in a blue plastic box.”

A phone call to state police in Sinaloa resulted in the finding of a blue canvas bag along a highway near Angostura, Sinaloa. Inside was the body of yet another decapitated man. Some fifteen feet away there was an ice chest, with a human head inside. And a body was found in Mazatlan; this victim had his hands tied with a rope behind his back. He had been hung by the neck from a highway bridge.

The head of Mexico’s National Human Rights Commission reported that in 2009 there were 8 thousand execution style assassinations in Mexico attributed to organized crime. He cited impunity as a major factor, given that out of every 100 crimes, only 2 persons end up jailed, and added that there is little incentive in Mexico to report crime.

Tijuana was known as the city of vice, prostitution and liquor, and that paled in comparison with what happened after the 90’s.The director of the Bi-National Center for Human Rights in Tijuana, Victor Clark Alfaro, says, ”Now, living in Tijuana is like being a character in a police novel. You get used to living in fear but you are not resigned, on the contrary, you start having anxiety problems. You change your daily habits and you become distrustful.” Data from the 2009 “Sixth National Poll” about insecurity reveal that, in Ciudad Juarez, Acapulco and Tijuana, between 87 and 94% of respondents stated that they had changed their personal and their family’s activities for fear of being victims of an assault or kidnapping.

On Tuesday, the Panamanian flag vessel “San Judas Tadeo” arrived from Cartagena, Colombia, and docked at Barranquilla, ostensibly to take on a load of canned Colombian beer for Honduras. But during a routine inspection, the drug sniffing dog “Mateo” alerted to some contraband: a ton of cocaine was then found, hidden in sacks in the rear depths of the craft. Mexican federal police in the states of Tabasco, Queretaro, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Sonora, Chihuahua and in Mexico City’s airport, located 22 “undocumented” persons who were turned over to the “INM” [Mex. Immigration Agency.] Though mostly from Central American countries, a Chinese, a Peruvian and an Argentinian were included in this number. In Tabasco, they also detected eight others, 3 Hondurans, 2 Salvadorans and 3 Guatemalans.

A truck and tank trailer headed to Ciudad Juarez from the interior of Mexico was found to contain “more than” 3 ½ tons of marihuana. The weed was hidden inside a special compartment which had been totally sealed and welded shut with a metal plate and silicone. The tank was allegedly hauling an industrial gas.

Here’s an idea: declare the massive population of illegal immagrants to be an invasion (Dictionary.com definition: 1. an act or instance of invading or entering as an enemy, esp. by an army.
2. the entrance or advent of anything troublesome or harmful, as disease.
3. entrance as if to take possession or overrun: the annual invasion of the resort by tourists.

Yep! lol....kind of like bailing water out of a boat with no bottom in it.
One positive about this for Milwaukee — The Mexican gangs are still pretty small and localized. An arrest like this has a significant impact in the city.
Mexican Posse has been moving into the area for a couple years, after a big bust significantly disrupted the Latin Kings hold over the “near south side.” They haven’t had enough time to really build a base in the area.
If the cops could only do something about the bigger, more entrenched black gangs on the north side. That’s the real crime problem in Milwaukee.
Los Angeles has been completely over-run by Mexicans, so much so that most of the city does not at all resemble an American town, but rather it looks like a Mexican toilet.
Let’s be candid: Mexicans are parasites and destroy whatever they come in contact with. It has ever been thus. Even non-Mexican hispanics despise them.
If ICE goes to a house to get a criminal alien, they should round up all the illegal aliens present.

I am surprised they’re up there in Milwaukee. I’m Hispanic but growing up, most Hispanics were in the South West.
I’m Hispanic but I have almost nothing in common with them. I’m culturally miles apart but they have permeated everywhere here in the L.A. area. I live in Bellflower in L.A. county and find it hard to find someone who speaks English. They usually come up to me to speak Spanish and I always get mad at them. I pretend not to know Spanish and I tell them to speak English in the U.S. I can’t wait to leave here.

That was true at one time, but that was a long time ago. The massive invasion from Mexico (and let’s be real here: It is an invasion in every sense of the word) over the last forty years hs been fatal to this country. Much of the United States, for all intents and purposes, has been conquered by a hostile foreign force; and the insidious projection of that enemy force into the everyday life of the rest of America, via the cancer of multiculturalism and its hammer political correctness, just sets the stage for the conquest of the rest of the country. Want to know who I really blame for all this? Our f***ing politicians who sold out our national sovereignty for a feel-good stroke.
After I left the Navy, I came back to look after my In-Laws and my own parents. My In-Laws have since passed away but my parents still live in Whittier. If it wasn’t for them, I would have stayed in Virginia or Maryland.
Political correctness kills. There is another consequence...the death toll on Americans, the costs of incarcerations, court costs, emotional costs, the loss of American culture...
Sometimes I sit and think about it and I get depressed, it’s not the same as it was years ago-that’s true.
