New York — Two-time Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards was so cavalier about his illicit relationship with a campaign staffer that he allowed her to make a videotape of a sexual encounter and never ensured it was destroyed, a former top aide said Monday.

In a one-on-one interview with WRAL News two days after the release of his tell-all book about Edwards' campaign and affair, Andrew Young said he thinks John and Elizabeth Edwards became so power-hungry that they lost their moral compasses as they chased a bid for the White House.

The very fact that there were KNOWING Democrat high-ups who KNEW of Edwards proclivities and idiocy yet maintained their support of Kerry chosing him in 2004 as "PRESIDENTIAL CALIBER" is sickening. The added intolerable fact is that these self-same whizzers joined and gave rise to the media firestorm around the "inexperienced and naive" Governor of the Nation's largest state in 2008. Their noses should now, by all that is holy, be used for yardsticks! SHEESH!

This Young guy and his wife lost their moral compasses too. I watched the special on either 48 hrs or 20/20 the other night. Almost to the end of the show you see his Young and his wife laughing and having just a happy grand time with Edwards’ g/f.
