Eduardo Verastegui endorsed Adam before Walessa did, but I didn't even hear about this until today. Get out and vote for Adam!! Looks like he has a solid chance.

Want to vote for a real reformer, a true outsider, and a fearless pro-lifer? Then "step out" for Adam, Republican candidate for Governor of Illinois.
Endorsed by Lech Walessa, Eduardo Verastegui, and Fighting Irish Thomas to name but a few.:)

Great, two unpronounceable guys!
I looked up on the Internet how to pronounce Adam's last name, and I got two different replies. My husband then went to pick up yard signs through one of his local offices, and was going to ask the woman who fetched them for him, but her Polish accent was so thick, he decided not to.:) And, yes, what a mouthful the title to this thread is.

Mr. V. is somewhat cute, and I’m sure Mr. A. is an excellent candidate!
(Walesa is usually spelled with just the one “s.”)

Yes, he was a soap opera star before converting. And thanks a lot for the spelling correction on Walesa. I was so concentrating on getting the other two guys' names correct, that I goofed on the easy one.:)

He’s too young for me, but I can see why other women find him appealing. I prefer men over 50.

Eduardo Verastugui has been my hero since he first brought Bella to the screen. Gorgeous, smart, compassionate, fearless, dedicated to Christ. What’s not to love?
Question: is he a US citizen? If not, he’s taking a big chance endorsing candidates. Or, doesn’t that matter in IL?
But, if EV is endorsing Andrezejewski, then I want Andreszejewski to win.
To: afraidfortherepublic
I think anyone can “endorse” a candidate, irrespective of the person’s citizenship. The legal issue is with making donations to the candidate.

Yikes! This election is today!
But the turnout is low: that means stuff we do right now could have an impact.
If you know any Latinos (from your church? the Iglesia de Dios on the corner? the local Taqueria Familiar?) send 'em this video, it's a winner. Hey, there's enough time for it to go viral. This is the instant internet age, after all.

Can anyone confirm the rumor that despite low overall turnout, the Polish area in Chicago are showing good turnout?
I am hearing this rumor from friends (obviously, partisans), but I would like to hear from a Freeper or two who live(s) in the area(s).
Anyone got any info on their area?
I live in IL-6, and turnout is pretty mild so far. Anecdotally speaking, Cronin, Kirk, and Dillard seem to have a strong following here.........
Anyone else got info?

My guess is the Poles will be out at the polls. My husband went for yard signs yesterday and the woman he spoke with had a VERY strong Polish accent. I hope she has lots of friends voting today!

Thanks very much. I did see that as one of the pronunciations; now I know it’s the correct one. So simple, yet the spelling is so complicated!:)

Thanks Mrs. Don-o. I sent this link to all my relatives ... and I *think* I got my son to change his vote for Adam. We have two signs out in our front yard and we are on a busy 4-lane major highway, so hopefully, that will bring in a couple of votes as well.

Oh, yes, he’s very pretty, in a purely aesthetic, rather than visceral, sorta way. If you know what I mean. Just my personal feelings, of course.
