I did too as well as other friends of mine. My link is still there and still opens to the story.
Good and smart of you.
I wonder what DeadFish Emanuel threatened Reuters with.
it is telling that Reuters didn’t deny their first story, just that they are withdrawing it

**REUTERS: Backdoor taxes to hit middle class...
**REUTERS pulls tax story...
Obama appeared to indicate yesterday he will push to extend the rate cuts unless it is for his definition of rich people.
But, who knows. Stunning this story was removed.
Amazing that they even admitted it was withdrawn.
Rush Limbaugh said The Washington Post still has it too. He told the White House he was just trying to help them out.
Classic Alinsky socialist ploy:
Make speeches about how the middle class must be saved — ALL THE WHILE MOVING TO DESTROY IT!
First we shall take eastern Europe, then the masses of Asia. Then we shall take that last bastion of capitalism, the United States. We wont have to attack. It will fall like an over-ripe fruit into our hands. V. Lenin
When we go to hang the last capitalists, they will compete to sell us the rope.

STARRING KARL MARX and BARACK OBAMA!
(Ohh, that was redundant!)

There's some that I wouldn't like to see hang........
Rush has it so it isn’t going anywhere.
That's going to cost an extra $3500 in taxes because a typical $10,000 deduction will be gone, on people who live in states with no state income tax (republican states).
This is one of the comments to the original article from your link (from the camp of Obama Can Do No Wrong):
“Allan’s comment, the first above states that “As a factual graph of budget deficits shows, Republican budgets were descending towards balance and, if mantained, would have been balanced by now according to the trend line.” If you can point us to this magic graph it will prove only that liars can figure. The only way that your claim is true is if one takes the annual deficit of for example, $800B and “adds” the income from SS contributions, say $300B, and claim that the deficit is only $500B . That’s deficit “lite” and even with that kind of hocus-pocus makes a trend line that might balnce in about fifty years. See it here: http://zfacts.com/p/519.html Even more important is the national debt and to see the striking contrast between the R vs. D especially beginning with Reagan, look at the graph of accumulated national debt as a percentage of GDP here: http://zfacts.com/p/318.html The debt was 120% of GDP at the end of WWII. Both R’s and D’s brought the percentage down, including Truman, Ike, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford and Carter. When Carter left office, national debt was less than 35% of GDP. Under Reagan. the debt percentage doubled to over 65%! Clinton was able to reduce that to below 60%, Under Bush, the debt climbed 75%, where it hadn’t been since before Truman left office. Those are facts, and you can claim whatever you want, Democrats have the better record when it comes to fiscal responsibility. I know that facts won’t convince Republicans, but for all those of you who are truly independents, I urge you to follow these links and see the facts for yourselves; don’t be fooled by those who claim to be independents, but in fact are just repeating Republican lies about deficits and debt. I guess you coul call them “iinos” - independents in name only but really Republicans in disguise. Obama has proven his ability by choosing Dr Orzag as his budget chief, the absolute most brilliant budget mind of our times, as those who have followed his career at CBO have been aware for some time. I personally trust Obama and Orzag to do the best job humanly possible to solve these crises of the budget we are facing. The challenges are Herculean, and I shudder to think where we would be right now if McCain and Phil Gramm were trying to steer the ship of state. We would be on the shoals, floundering.

The Feb 1 story headlined “Backdoor taxes to hit middle class” is wrong and has been withdrawn. The story said lower-income families will pay more under tax provisions scheduled to expire Dec 31. The Obama administration’s budget calls for the extension of those tax provisions for households earning less than $250,000. There will be no substitute story.
Priceless. :-)
What? The first $2400 of unemployment $$ will now be taxable under this budget? And this is new? Please expound.
