Gates Backs Repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' (Idiot ALERT)

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Tuesday that he supports President Obama's decision to seek the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy prohibiting gays from serving openly in the military and has appointed a "high-level working group" to figure out how to do it.

Gates, in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, announced that Gen. Carter Ham, who leads U.S. Army forces in Europe, and Pentagon General Counsel Jeh Johnson will lead the review. The defense chief called for an "implementation plan" by the end of the year.

"I fully support the president's decision," Gates said. "The question before us is not whether the military prepares to make this change, but how we ... best prepare for it. We have received our orders from the commander in chief and we are moving out accordingly."

The a**holes are really starting to shine.

We are in for a huge fight to keep the Pink Mafia from over-running the military.

this will also discourage throngs of loyal well-trained and experienced GI’s who are now indecisive about re-enlisting for a number of other reasons....it will surely push many of them across the line to decide to NOT re-enlist.......in this way, this is yet ANOTHER way for America-haters to denigrate and thin the ranks of our Defense Forces, not to mention increasing the love of the America-haters for obama et all, queer or otherwise......speaking of queer, is the Ft Hood Jihadist one also?

Gates is a cowardly slime. In order to curry favor with the homosexual activists, he wants to socially engineer our military units into prancing ballet troupes.

This may be a stupid question, but what does the military gain by repealing DADT?

Agreed...Mullen is a disappointment but Gates was a lost cause as soon as he stayed on for Zer0 and supported his anti-military programs. A shame Gen. Conway wasn’t appointed CJCS, he is outspoken against repealing DADT.

It gains nothing. It turns our Military’s traditions upside down.

I don't call it a "gain", but it would result in a serious decrease in new enlisments, morale and combat readiness across all branches.

It would be a catastrophically bad decision, IMO.

Just talked briefly with Duncan Hunter. He ain’t happy. He will be writing a piece in the next day or so slamming this political correct horsecrap. He’s also going to muscle his way on to TV to defend keeping poofers out of the military.

Thanks!

There is more to this than just allowing gays in the military. They are opening the door for an activist agenda within the ranks. Benefits for a gay partner are next, such as:
Servicememember’s Group Life Insurance (SGLI)
Base Housing
Medical and Dental for gay dependent
Accompanied Tours with gay partner
Benefits normally associated with the military family will now be fought for by gay rights activist. Do not take this lightly.

We have received our orders from the commander in chief and we are moving out accordingly.

Gates and Obama should be removed from office for their latest attempt to violate the Constitution. Article I, Section 8 provides that "The Congress shall have Power" ... "To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces." Not Obama, not Gates, but Congress.

The problem isn’t Gates and Mullen. They are suck-ups trying to keep their jobs.

When are we going to see mass resignations from all the generals and admirals who know that gays in the military, and the appeasement defense plans in the new QDR will destroy the best military in history?

Nothing would better fix the American publics awareness of the problems and the dangers involved than a stream of these flag officers heading out the door. But they won’t - they’re in it for themselves, to get that next star, or that next juicy command.

I strongly disagree

The problem is with Gates and Mullen.
The last place we need suck-ups is in charge of our military.

Obama has ZERO experience with the military.
ZERO experience with their needs and requirements.
He needs a strong hand to guide him, not somebody with their nose up his azz.

If Gates had an ounce of integrity or patriotism he would tell Obama to shove he job up the backside Gtes is sucking on.

Seems we going to have to also ask every one serving in the Military to bend over and accommodate Gays.

This whole thing is rediculous, if Fauxbama truly wanted it gone he could do it by EXECUTIVE ORDER, he is the Commander in Chief, he does not need congress involved if he truly wanted gays openly in the military, an executive order would make it so instantly.

He’s a turdbase and a coward.

Nope. Congress makes the rules for the Military, not the CIC.

Gates needs to step down. Something is up with this idiot - dementia? To introduce open sodomy into our military while we are fighting two wars is pure insanity.

Actually, I'm not sure how that would work. The UCMJ is a system of laws enacted by Congress...Obama can't change that. I suspect he could issue an EO prohibiting enforcement of specific articles, but that would be an even bigger and more contentious political bombshell.
