-—”You will probably see a surge for Dillard as votes come in from DuPage.”-—
Bingo.
I am discouraged early, though, as the talk on TV/Radio is that Central Illinois is first in reporting, and that it still looks like a Dillard/McKenna race.
Truth to tell, if they have strength like that downstate, it's going to be one of those two guys.
I hope Adam had votes pouring in late.

I dont vote for people who are unopposed and when I tried to put my completed ballot in the machine it was rejected. A judge explained to me that it was rejected because the machine wouldnt take it if any of the spaces were left blank and asked if I wanted to leave it that way. I told him indeed I did. So he explained to me that he would have to over ride the machine, he acted as if he were aggravated with me for not filling the ballot out all the way. I told him to over ride away mate.
Wow, how annoying for him to be aggravated. When I voted, I did NOT vote for those that ran unopposed either (there were also two contests that I didn't know the people running, so I passed on voting for them as well) but mine went through the machine. So we must have different equipment here in DuPage County. Either that, or my votes didn't count, which would be really distressing. No one said anything to me about my ballot.

IL 18th District, formerly held by Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, now held by Aaron Schock, youngest member of Congress. And so far a disappointment to me. Voted for the unconstitutional ex post facto law, to penalize the ones who got big bonuses. Bought whole hog the man made global warming nonsense.
Unopposed in the republican primary and he didn't get a vote from me anyway.

By law, the ballot reader is supposed to warn the voter about under-voting when it concerns an IL Constitutional office. I didn't vote for two candidates that were running unopposed, and, I didn't know anything about them. Because they were running for Constitutional offices in IL, the ballot reader asked (electronically) whether I approved or disapproved of the under-voting. I pushed the approved button and was on my way. I was the 20th voter to vote in my precinct and the time was 1045am. A 30% turnout is predicted.

——”Idiotic Kirk voters!”——
Welcome to Illinois.
Looks like the Proft folks and the Brady-cide voters are going to take JUST enough of a chuck to give the nod to the Party Guy.
If just 50% of Proft and Brady voters could have been moved to an acceptable Conservative alternative, a Conservative would be winning right now.

If Kirk gets in, the Illinois conservatives got a lot of explaining to do. I have to disagree with you, because the total votes for Patrick Hughes and (I think) Don Lowrey, will likely reflect the number of conservatives voting in this Illinois election.

“If Kirk gets in, the Illinois conservatives got a lot of explaining to do.”
Explanation: we conservatives only get one vote apiece.
Seriously, though, as distasteful as he is, Kirk’s got name recognition, and especially in a primary, that’s a hell of an advantage.

“If just 50% of Proft and Brady voters could have been moved to an acceptable Conservative alternative, a Conservative would be winning right now.”
And by that reasoning, if enough Adam and Brady voters had moved to an acceptable Conservative alternative, Proft would be winning.
If the Adam, Brady and Proft voters are a higher percentage than the winner, that sends a message. Next time, we all need to get behind a single candidate.
