Dems seize on comments to paint GOP as unfriendly to women By Michael O'Brien - 02/03/10 12:15 PM ET
Democrats are seizing on comments by top conservatives to advance a narrative that the Republican Party is hostile to women.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has gone to great lengths over the last 24 hours to blast comments by Republican National Committee (RNC) Co-chairman Jan Larimer suggesting that women candidates need "a little more handholding," and on Wednesday went after comments by conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh mocking the women's movement.
Limbaugh, who served as a judge for the Miss America pageant, said he "love[s] the womens movement especially when walking behind it," during an appearance on the Fox News network this morning.
DNC executive director Jen O'Malley Dillon shot back quickly at Limbaugh early this afternoon, seeking to tie the controversial conservative's remarks to Larimer's.
"Rush Limbaughs misogynistic comments are outrageous, but unfortunately are not surprising coming from a party whose official in charge of recruiting women candidates believes that women need a little more handholding,'" she said in a statement.
The strategy behind that statement mirrors one the DNC had taken shortly before the gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia last fall, in which Democrats worked to craft a message that the GOP was sexist and out of touch with women voters.
O'Malley Dillon made a similar criticism against the GOP on Wednesday.
"Its stunning, but also telling of why the GOP continues to struggle with women that no Republican including Chairman Steele has condemned these sentiments from their leadership," she said.
Pathetic DNC.
yet again the rats do what they always do.
name call, lie and twist the facts they then call their friends in the media to run with the story and yet again the sheep of the country follow blindly and believe this.
The rats need an enemy so they can keep saying to their sheep “look at them over there bla bla” the sheep look and do not see how the rats are doing things.
It’s time for the rats to just bleeding grow up for once and understand folks are pissed off with their agenda, their friends the homosexual agenda and the media.
We should apologize, but also blast the Dems for allowing whoredom via abortion.
ROTFLMAO...the party that has spent the last year and half trashing Sarah Palin and singling her out as public enemy #1 are going to paint themselves as defenders of women candidates.
Sooo much worse than Schumer calling a flight attendant a “bitch”
Ah, what they see as the GOP’s token black man won’t jump in where Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann or even Carly Fiorina could but don’t.
Gimme a break, lefty donkey ladies. Aren’t you the same folks who cheer the Vagina Monologues that suggest that the only good man is one who drools after the girls?
The Rats should really butt out of the GOP’s business.

yeah that worked well

"Act like a lady!"
LOL! That just sounds so...right!
So stunning, in fact, that it fails to explain how the most popular Republican around is a woman.
"Rush Limbaugh, misogynistic as an average straight male that is inclined to be attracted to females versus males, comments are outrageous, ...
This hardly is a new thing. The dims have been successfully doing this in certain districts for years

“Limbaugh, who served as a judge for the Miss America pageant, said he “love[s] the womens movement especially when walking behind it,” during an appearance on the Fox News network this morning.”
What is wrong with that? A little puerile, but so what.
Look at Bill Clinton, their sexual predator poster boy.
People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
But, as usual, the Bolsheviks will line up the usual maintream media culprits and put them to work attacking the GOP.
Apologize to whom, why?
I thought this was strictly an in-house matter. The gallant conservative fellow opens the door for the lady. He might even offer to help her carry her moose gun.
Democrats are still stuck in a 1960s mentality. Thinking that all women are leftist feminists who want to be liberated. The party is stuck in the past. It’s appropriate their mascot is a jackass.
And, "Washington may think that saying anything about the other side, no matter how false, is just part of the game. But it is precisely such politics that has stopped either party from helping the American people. Worse yet, it is sowing further division among our citizens and further distrust in our government."
What else was it dear leader once said, "words, just words."
Clearly they do not understand the meaning of misogynist. So if I say women are beautiful and I love looking at them, that makes me anti-women?
The DNC is grasping at air. But of course they do not do these things for intelligent people. They say these things for stupid people and their nutball base.

” .. she landed at Al Gores 2000 presidential campaign.
Dillon moved to Iowa in order to aid Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) in his first presidential run.
Then Tom Daschle ... Daschle became the sitting congressional leader to lose his bid for re-election in 52 years. It was her second most disappointing campaign.
In 2005, Dillon became the campaign manager for Florida gubernatorial candidate Jim Davis. Charlie Crist (R) defeated Davis with 52 percent of the vote.
Only a month after Davis defeat in Florida, Dillon found herself in Iowa, again working for Edwards presidential bid ...”
You go girl!

It is the Democrats who have been unfriendly to women. Think of comments regarding Palin and her daughter, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, etc.
Yep. Democrats have been very friendly to Sarah Palin.
Liberals try to make clear distinction between women and conservatives when attacking GOP women. But Should GOP attack feminists or Dem women, it is propagandized as attack on women, and MSM carry the water for such slanted propaganda.
All I can say is that I like girls, and that’s more than any of those Democrats can say ~ even their lesbians are angry.
Ms. Dillon complains that Republicans seem to think women need their hands held and she proves it by crying like the female cry baby she is.
It's not the first time Rush has made that observation.
NO ONE CARES! Let em keep it up!
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
And Gillibrand sat right next to him and didn't call Chuckie out on it.
John Edwards’ treatment of women is a great example of the Democrat man’s respect for women.
PBS Frontline did an episode on “The Women’s Movement”. It concluded that it was actually the roots of the Gay Rights movement. The Lesbians got straight, impressionable, young women to go along with the empowerment mantra.
Democrats do not even have the presence of mind to be embarrassed by such idiocy. Or by such blatant hypocrisy, coming from a party that treats Republican women with the kind of venom that Republicans reserve for terrorists.
If the GOP is guilty of ANYTHING it’s their piss-poor failure at protecting women from the hard left.
I was/am appalled at the silence from the GOP when the left gang tackled Sarah Palin.
Well we know Obama is safe from messing around out of fear for his life.
If Chewbacca ever found out Bammer had cheated (i mean with a woman) he would, sorry, I mean ‘she’ would rip him to shreds. (president or not)
The fact that the DNC is home to ‘women hardest hit’ apologists for the last 100 years, replacing men with the husband of the state, and if women aren’t 50% or more in a given field, they’re automatically being unfairly treated and discriminated against,
is yet another massive liberal hypocrisy.
Men and women are different. Duh. To say that in general, a woman candidate needs more handholding than a man, isn’t slamming women. In fact, they are the only ones that can accept more help without being regarded like a man would be, incompetent, wimpy, nervous, unsure, unprepared, like they can’t even run their own campaign without extra help. Women can take the extra help if they need it, whatever that might be, and not have it count against them.
Oh right. The GOP is supposed to emulate the Dems, like the way the Dems treated Katherine Harris, Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin and her daughters, the Bush daughters... Kind of like that, right?
Spot on.
“The strategy behind that statement mirrors one the DNC had taken shortly before the gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia last fall, in which Democrats worked to craft a message that the GOP was sexist and out of touch with women voters.”
How’d that work out for you, Dems?!

Any more questions????
Wail away Dems.

Edwards hit wife during heated fight: report http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2443571/posts>
Disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards reportedly beat his cancer-stricken wife during a horrific marriage-ending fight.
"John lost his temper big time," a close friend of Elizabeth's revealed to the National Enquirer. "She has the divorce papers drawn up, but she can amend them to charge John with domestic violence."
HMMMMMMmmm breathlessly awaiting DNC executive director Jen O'Malley Dillons statement regarding this latest John Edwards flap???
