Well by gawd they better not have any bible verses written on their scopes because that’s totally intolerable fer a government agency to have!................./steaming sarc
Hmmmm,,,no more Mr Nice Guy I guess.
Knock knock (opens door): “Hi, I’m from the IRS and... BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!.....all your income are belong to us.”
>> IRS Acquiring Short-Barrel Shotguns
The taxman gunning for certainty.
“I saw a program about the IRS on A&E some years back. They apparently have a law enforcement arm with armed officers (Criminal Investigators). There is even something resembling a SWAT team for high risk situations.”
IRS-CID has been around since the 1910s or so. That would be the infamous “revenuers” of the Prohibition days. See also: Elliot Ness. ATF was split off FROM IRS-CID. Originally they enforced the taxes on guns, booze and smokes. Now they have added Booms to their portfolio. ATF is not even part of Treasury anymore. IRS-CID and the IRS internal cops are the only “police” agencies left within Treasury. The rest got sent to Justice and Homeland Security.
They’ve had 14” barreled 870s for over 10 years now. I’ve seen them up close, since I have a relative in that line of work. They are REALLY loud, too. These are probably replacements for old/worn out/broken shotguns nationwide.
“IRS Investigation units are armed. Dont worry, they arent after most of you. They are after the BIG time wage earners who hide their funds. We are talking those who owe millions, not 4-5 figure debt..
That and those who run refund schemes (see: the Freemen, etc) against the government, plus money laundering, etc. They also assist other Fed agencies (FBI,DEA and so on) with the financial side of crimes, tracking down the money (like the Muslim charities that fund terror).
They generally do not do collection work, unless someone makes threats against the revenue officers that do the collections and liens.
It generally isn’t worth spending the time of a $70K+ per year investigator to track down a nickel-dime tax cheat. They have other people for that who are paid a lot less and don’t carry guns and such. They don’t kill you, just make you wish you were dead.
“Interesting that the mag tube is longer than the barrel.”
It’s not. I’ve seen them up close. The barrel is right at the end of the mag tube.
It’s not illegal to own a short-barreled shotgun, you just have to pay the $200 Title II tax or the $5 AOW tax and pass a background check.

Thanks for the info!
Guess it’s the angle of the photo. Didn’t really make sense but it’s gubment.
The latter, of course.
“power comes from the barrel of a gun.”
So does resistance.
‘Course they would need to know who had the guns.... anybody want to make a guess as at to what they will want to do next?
You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in their struggle for independence.Charles A. Beard
NOT TRUE! A little paperwork and a $200 tax ($5 if you don't want a stock) and it's yours legally.
I wish people better understood the laws - far more is legal than they realize.
You have to be kidding. Those who owe millions aren’t hunted down by the IRS. They leave the country and then get their ex-wives to lobby for pardons. Isn’t that what Denise Rich did?
