Disappointed With Sarah, Again
Vanity | 2/4/09

Posted on 02/04/2010 9:35:43 AM PST by dangus

Sarah endorses INCREASING immigration with Glenn Beck:

PALIN: Let me address legal immigration and we need to continue to be so welcoming and inviting of those who are represented there by our Statue of Liberty. The immigrants, of course, built this country. And I think republicans, conservatives are at fault when we allow the other side to capture this immigration issue and try to turn this issue into something negative for republicans. I think we need to recognize that again, immigrants built this great country. There are rules to follow if you want to be a part of this great country. Let's make sure people are following the rules. But let's welcome this.

BECK: Do you agree with me make the door wider and make it easier to bring people in, you know, Bill Gates said, I have a hard time keeping people here because it's so complex. Make, just streamline it and make it easier for people to come in the right way.

PALIN: Every part of bureaucracy needs to be streamlined, absolutely. And people do need to come in the right way. They cannot take advantage of what this country has to offer. The opportunities, the help that is here, they need to do this legally

When Gov. Palin endorsed Sen. John McCain, I was forgiving, because they had been part of a team. But Palin has also endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham, the man whose hatred for conservatives and grassroots is exceeded in the Republican Party only by Sen. Arlen Specter. Oh, wait...

I'm not saying Gov. Palin is evil, liberal, or statist. But I've been pleading with people to find out what she actually stands for before they stampede to someone based on their personality and/or presence. Maybe she can still be reached, but I'm developing severe concerns we may be on the threshold of lunging headlong to yet another candidate who doesn't represent the conservative viewpoint.

Again, I emphasize she's not necessarily bad, but we should find out exactly how she stands on:

I have NO problem with LEGAL immigration....MY problem is with the illegal ones. Ship ‘em back to where they came from and tell them to get to the back of the line.

I don’t care if she makes any mis-step or mis-statmen

I KNOW SHE IS NOT LYING and no matter what I KNOW I TRUST HER MORE THAN ANY OTHER POLITICIAN

She may not be perfect every day (although I think she is) but she is head and shoulders above ALL THE REST in honesty, integrity, and character.

There’s a reason why Palin endorses McAmnesty. She agrees with his positions! When is this going to be evident to those who blindly follow her? She’s no more Conservative then McAmnesty!

I take issue with her endorsement of Juan McCain... if you are correct, I take issue with her endorsement of Lindsey Grahamnesty... however...

I take no issue with streamlining and strengthening the true immigration system in this country. I don’t see where she supported the current, stupid and anti-immigrant system. I don’t see where she wants the door opened wide for illegal immigrants.

Your criticism is misplaced on this one.

She believes immigrants must come to this country legally and abide by the laws of the land. I see nothing wrong with that.

You somehow missed this part?

There are rules to follow if you want to be a part of this great country. Let's make sure people are following the rules. But let's welcome this.

Do you believe there's something wrong with legal immigration?

To the immigrants who play by the rules, welcome to America, now speak English!

“There are rules to follow if you want to be a part of this great country.” Sarah Said.

Supporting immigration BY THE RULES is NOT a bad thing.
Everything else in the article is hyperbole based on a premise that she somehow favors illegals, which is absolutely WRONG.

If you’re going to bang the Anti-Palin drum, please provide some “Meat” to support your case.

This smoke-and-mirrors approach isn’t getting the job done!

If you highlighted the red in Palin’s discussion, you’re taking her words out of context. Palin is quite clear, and draws a distinction between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration.

Resorting to misrepresentation in the dialog between Palin and Beck order to make your point is disingenuous, and weakens your point.

“And people do need to come in the right way. They cannot take advantage of what this country has to offer. The opportunities, the help that is here, they need to do this legally”

I am part of a Slovak parish. Many of our families put out $150.00 non refundable, to file the papers to get family members here. Most times they are turned down but the families keep trying.

Why don’t you want them to come here? They are doing it right, just like my Grandparents before me.

I have NO problem with LEGAL immigration

I would have a problem with inviting the legal immigration of unskilled people to soak up taxpayer-funded social services and depress wages at the bottom of the job ladder. (Which is not to say Palin is in favor of that.)

I just made it! The fact that she endorses a candidate who supports amnesty for illegal aliens among many other issues also supported by socialists makes the case!

Thank you for proving my point Palin followers are so blinded they can't see the forest for the trees.

I’m with Sarah on this. I absolutely oppose illegal immigration, in all forms. Illegals should be permanently barred from legal entry and from citizenship, for a first offense. However, we should have a mechanism to bring in legal immigrants who can contribute to our country.
