Just in case anyone is reading this ...LOcal news....

California storm brings mudslides, flooding

********************************EXCERPT******************************************

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say approximately six foothill homes in wildfire burn areas northeast of Los Angeles are under mandatory evacuation orders after a pounding winter storm triggered mudslides and caused widespread flooding.

County sheriff’s deputies are walking door to door Saturday to tell residents in the La Canada Flintridge area to get out after a debris flow up to 4 feet high damaged an unknown number of homes.

Residents have been rescued from houses and vehicles stuck in the mud. No injuries are reported.

That orange/yellow blob near “Lancaster” just went over my house. Hard rain. We don’t often get gullywashers like that one.

Was out and about listening to 1070 am...quite a number of homes in La Cananda damged severly...mud flows moved cars and the big cement barriers like toys as they described it.

Another rain this afternoon and then a new storm arrives Tuesday and Wednesday....

Oh no!!! I haven’t had the news on today.I wouldn’t doubt it the way it roared through here today. We are a stone’s throw from La Canada/Crescenta and I knew something would be giving way.
I have been afraid of our old turn of the century river rock walls in the back of our property!

More tonight you say???

Do you know if the storm coming in Tuesday will have as much punch as this one had?

Sure did damage to La Canada!

I heard some one on the radio report say that the soil is now in such a condition that anything over 1/4 inch per hour would trigger bad stuff...

I don't think it is suppose to be stronger than this one,...but even slightly weaker might still cause damage ...
