Contractors install giant sections of fence near Calexico, Calif., along the border with Mexico in September 2007. Under the president's plan on border security, the existing 643 miles of border fence would be maintained, but no new barriers would be built.

The Government is lying again, there is not 653 miles of fence. A year ago there was 527 miles of something, like 252 miles of vehicle barrier, 76 miles of innefective, old 10 ft. high mat fence, and 199 miles of new fence. There was very little fence built last year.

THe Secure Fence Act mandated 854 NEW miles of double border fence with patrol road. Last I heard they were up to about 50 miles, not counting the San Diego area, which was under a separate deal.

Talk about a shovel ready infrastructure project.

Obama can't have the fence, as it keeps future Dem voters at bay.

Earth to Obama, Earth to Obama... keep up the good work. This is one issue which REALLY lost Bush II a lot of popular support - among real Americans - native born and legally naturalized.

Keep digging that hole, Zero. It gets deeper each time you open your mouth.

By the way, how do you pronounce Corpsman???? And are you a native born American??? PROVE it, you fraud.

The NAU will be im,plemented rendering borders and fences and customs checkpoints superfluous and Obama, like BushII, knows the money spent will be for naught.

When you see immigration and border issues consistently ignored, unenforced, and underfunded, you have to conclude that the Powers That Be have no intention of securing our borders.

Or not...
