The Bronco still lives, The California Dept of Forestry has several OV-10s that they use for lead ships in fighting forest fires.
Note the Super STUF in the background!

Most times, so is technology. But the pilot’s judgment is not impaired... And if you’re talking about weapons, such judgment is crucial. Especially in CAS.
