The Holy Spirit is truly upon this young man—just in my short study of him and this controversy I felt that, and I might add, this entire (upcoming) incident is being driven by the Lord. It will be interesting to watch the forces at battle, and yes, evil (Darkness) does NOT like to yield even one single yard to good (Light). The pro-abortionists may meditate, or chant Sedona Arizona-type mantras, or pray to Great Cosmic Emptiness to fortify themselves in advance of the battle, but Our One True God is Great and I say will He will do great things this Sunday through Mr. Tebow and this ad, reaching millions upon millions.

You were saying ...

If an abortion for this medical reason were against the law in the Philippines, why would the doctors recommend it?

There could be two reasons... (not that I actually know their story, but "just saying"... :-) ...).

One reason could be that the law may have allowed for danger to the mother. But, I don't know if the law there in the Philippines allowed for that.

The second reason could be because they were Americans and that meant that she could get treatment back in the United States for something that was life-threatening (or something that was necessary for her health). So, the doctor[s] would have informed her, regarding her medical options.

"All his life, from the moment he could understand, I told him, 'You're a miracle baby,'"

From the biographies I've read, I'm amazed at how many sports stars received similar ego building encouragement from family members as children.

IMHO, this situation is incomparable to what you refer. This is a child that his parents believed would not live, other than through God’s grace alone. They prayed for his life, and if granted, promised to God that his life would be offered to God’s service. The miracle is real, and it is all to God’s glory.
