President Obama doesn't need to step foot in a church to find spiritual inspiration -- it comes directly to his BlackBerry.
Every day, the president receives "devotionals," or passages meant to bring one closer to God, from Joshua DuBois, the head of his Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
"Whether it's a passage of scripture or a piece out of a book that I think he might be interested in or a prayer, it's something to start his day off on the right note," DuBois told Fox News.
When he took office, Obama fought vehemently with his security staff to keep that BlackBerry, a highly-secure version of the standard store-bought phone and messaging device that has now become something of a spiritual lifeline.
In the past year, the president and his advisers have faced occasional but persistent questions about one of the most visible expressions of one's faith: picking a church. The Obamas have yet to pick one after separating from their longtime church in Chicago in 2008. At the time, Obama publicly split from the church's now retired pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, following a controversy over videos capturing Wright's incendiary sermons that nearly derailed Obama's presidential campaign.
The search for a new church was never officially disbanded, but the first family rarely attends local services. His advisors say the president frequently attends private services at the chapel at the presidential retreat Camp David, but he has only been to public services in Washington a handful of times.

He calls his devotionals “surahs”.
Conservatives can’t make Zero not going to church too much of an issue because the Dems are inevitably going to say that Reagan did not regularly attend church either.
For instance, this one:
“Obama is Christian, thought the passages he receives from DuBois can encompass many faiths. It’s just one way of staying connected to his spirituality, advisers said.”
That’s like saying you are a conservative but for inspiration you read Worker’s World.
Or this one: “Obama’s spiritual adviser, the Rev. Jim Wallis, can’t understand with the “preoccupation” with if and when the Obamas will decide on a formal place in which to worship.”
This is one of the biggest fallacies non believers fall for. It sounds nice and all that, that your religion is in your heart and you don’t HAVE to do organized religion. But the sad truth is, it does not go with muscular Christianity. If you “forsake the gathering of yourselves together”, your Christianity tends to become weak and useless.
But he would have been better off if he had. I would hazard a guess his kids wouldn’t have been so off the track. Patti and Ron always struck me as a little clueless.
Does Oblami give Christmas gifts to his children?
Point is, it won't become much of a political issue because of the reason I stated.
We should compare his Ramadan address to his Christmas address...
well, we could, IF he had given a Christmas address.
Meaning: "Jesus was a great teacher" and "Believe in yourself"
I heard he does not (give his children Christmas presents) but he did relent and have a “Christmas Wishing Tree” this year at the white house
My guess is it’s more like, “Barack, you are a genius. You make the lame walk and the blind see. You can do it. You are the one you are waiting for! Yes you can!”
Sunni or Shiite?
He gave a “shout out” to muslims on Thanksgiving. And only relented to let a Nativity scene in when warned it would be a political disaster.
Barack, big D here. After you wipe God’s inalienable rights from the minds of man. Kill your family.
If he had a history of actually practicing a christian religion this wouldn’t be a big deal and could be viewed as another element, an element of the times
But he relies on his staff to choose and send him inspirational messages to his blackberry
and obamites are touting that as proof he is Christian?
Jenny’s blackberry exchange between odumbo and biden is more realistic
