I didn’t say that we should support Lowden because she’s a woman, I said that we should support her because she is a proven and experienced conservative with the wherewithal to take Reid’s attacks and defeat him in November, and then not to go wobbly in the Senate. I then mentioned that, as an added bonus, she will help destroy the media’s image that only men want to prohibit abortion. If you don’t think that having pro-life female Senators matters, then feel free to ignore her gender and vote for her exclusively for the myriad reasons set forth in the editorial.

Well, I don’t know who is opposing Tarkanian because he’s “too conservative”; certainly not me. I just don’t think that he has proven himself to be up to the task of beating Harry Reid and serving in the Senate. It is very rare for someone’s first successful election to be to the U.S. Senate.

Sue Lowden seems a bit gaff prone. There is another candidate who the more I research the more found I become of her and that is Sharron Angle. She seems genuine. I worry about Lowden’s connections to TARP.

I just wish Lowden would drop out now. She isn’t going to win the Primary. She’s running around in a bus blowing money like there is no tomorrow and for what? This is a primary. She has money but I’m just not sure about her. Something just hasn’t felt right since she first came up. The fact that she has in the past supported Harry Reid doesn’t do her any favors.

She was not a Miss America, she was a contestant in the Miss America contest. Big Difference.

It just takes a few minutes to search for details about her.

And that quick search opens at least a half-dozen very questionable facts/allegations about her.

Haven't looked at other candidates, but surely would if I were a NV resident.

"If Sue Lowden is for less taxes, less spending, less government, pro-military, pro-life and anti-amnesty, ..."

What else is there?

You’re welcome. By the way, can you tell me how to put a tagline next to my screen name? Thanks.

She bears quite a resemblance to Kay Barely Republican.

A Vegas whore would be better than Harry Reid but so I'm not really concerned with who beats him as much as that they beat him. Ideally, it would be someone to the right of Reagan. Doesn't matter if she wears a skirt. I'm just tired of RINOs who run like conservatives until they get to Washington and then turn into McCain, Jr.

It looks like Sue Lowden may be a little more than a Mitt Romney in a skirt who's really pro-choice on abortion. For the record if you advocate the 'choice' to murder the unborn in cases of rape and incest, then your argument for life is weak. At least Romney went all the way life the way this Tarkanian guy does.

Wonder if it's just a coincidence that Lowden's new views on abortion reflect the Mormon church's view which also includes the hardship of the mother exception, I assume Lowden being in a state with a large percentage of Mormons, has evolved her position to match the Mormon church position. Is she Mormon too?

She is a Roman Catholic and cjhck her site for her views on the issues, including abortion.

To wit:

Abortion:

As a born and raised practicing Catholic, I am pro-life. My personal views on abortion are consistent with the views of my church – and they are the views I carry with me everyday. While this issue has created significant debate and controversy within our states, our political parties and our federal government, my views on abortion will not change should I be fortunate enough to be elected to the U.S. Senate.

It is my strong belief that Roe v. Wade was an act of judicial activism and that this decision remains inconsistent with our U.S. Constitution. Further, while I have many dear friends and family members who I may disagree with on the issue of abortion and the Roe v. Wade decision, I believe the practice of partial birth abortion is one of the most appalling procedures ever condoned by our government. It is simply beneath the dignity of any free society.

For decades federal law has prohibited the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortion. As a part of the health care bill, there has been an effort to change this established law. I am strongly opposed to using the taxes – that the American people pay – to fund abortion in any form. If I am elected to the U.S. Senate, I will fight to maintain the existing law that prohibits our tax dollars from funding abortion.

Finally, as a state senator, I voted for and worked to pass parental notification legislation that required parents to be involved in the decisions of their minor children regarding pregnancy. As a U.S. Senator, I will work to ensure we have strong and enforced federal parental notification laws so minor children cannot be taken across state lines for abortions in states that do not have their own parental notification laws.

Sharron Angle couldn’t even beat the RINO state senate leader in the last primary.

Until this thread, I didn't know anything about Sue Lowden and still am in the dark. I do know enough about Mormonism to keep my rhetoric in check.

IMO, if you call yourself pro-choice, you are pro-abortion. I do believe a pregnant woman has a right to self-defense on life and health, and nothing more. Rape and incest are weak options and not in keeping with the unalienable rights of life and liberty.

Lowden allowed the party in Nevada to self destruct when faced with Pualbots. I question her leadership abilities.

Ask her if she supports the NV

Thanks for the info....but

As a born and raised practicing Catholic, I am pro-life. My personal views on abortion are consistent with the views of my church

She doesn't seem to know her own church's views on the issue, the Roman Catholic Church does not approve of the rape and incest exception to abortion.

"Sharron Angle couldn't even beat the RINO state senate leader in the last election."

And Lowden lost her last election, as an INCUMBENT.
