PESHAWAR: The Afghan Taliban on Thursday demanded the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani scientist who has been convicted by the US court on charges of her alleged attempt to murder US soldiers in Afghanistan, and threatened to execute an American soldier they were holding currently. They claimed Aafia Siddiquis family had approached the Taliban network through a Jirga of notables, seeking their assistance to put pressure on the US to provide her justice.
Being Muslims, it becomes our religious and moral obligation to help the distressed Pakistani woman convicted by the US court on false charges, said a senior Afghan Taliban commander. The commander, whose militant network is holding the US soldier, Bowe Bergdahl, called our sources from an undisclosed location in Afghanistan and threatened to execute the American trooper if their demand was not met.

Good, if they kill him then tell them they will carpet boomb the whole country and set the air on fire with gas bombs.
Pakistani Scientist Found Guilty of Shootings
Pakistan furious over Lady al-Qaida ruling
Which should have been done on 9/12 on every Moslem population center.
Obama won’t do that. Unless he takes a hit in the polls over this he’ll let it slide. So make a fuss when the beheading video hits youtube and hope it springs him into action or wait until 2013 for vengeance.
Protestors in Karachi
There won’t be a deal and sadly, I fear the awful fate of our soldier.
Aafia’s trial was a circus. She should have been tried in a military venue and executed immediately.
Pakistani protesters rally to condemn the verdict against accused al-Qaida associate Aafia Siddiqui in Quetta, Pakistan.
Wow, you can just smell the hypocrisy.
Thank you for the ping Velveeta.
While in custody, on July 18, 2008, prosecutors said, Ms. Siddiqui grabbed an M4 rifle from a police station floor and fired on Army officers and F.B.I. agents. She was shot in the abdomen.
I think I see the problem.

Prayers for this soldier. I am sickened to realize that this young man’s life may soon end brutally. Living in Idaho near his hometown makes it feel more personal to me. May God strengthen & redeem him.

Obama, Gates and Petreaus recently sought to befriend the Taliban, win them over to a pledge of non-violence and integration into running Afghanistan.
The Taliban of course rejected this.
Mark me disappointed by this naiive political and military leadership.
She was caught with chemicals, weapon-making instructions and a list of New York landmarks.
They should have aimed higher than the abdomen.
Thank you for the links.
You’re welcome Vel.
The soldier was not innocent in his going over to the taliban. He was complicit in his going to the other side. This should be an example for anyone else who decides that the taliban will look on them favorably.
What makes you believe he went to the Taliban willingly? Was he not captured?
Thank you for the bump Jet Jaguar.
**Good, if they kill him then tell them they will carpet boomb the whole country and set the air on fire with gas bombs.**
While most FReepers consider this a good idea,
We do KNOW what ... MULLAH OBAMA will do!!
“Since he has confessed to all charges against him, our Islamic court had announced death sentence for him, the Taliban leader claimed.”
Don’t forget to read them their rights when you catch up to them, boys. Wouldn’t want the great zero to turn them loose because their rights had been violated.
That’s what I’ve been wondering. How the heck did he get “kidnapped”?
I have no sympathy for this soldier. I have it on good authority from my Army buddies in Afghanistan that he deserted his post and thought that he could wander about Afghanistan to “find himself” without any trouble from the Taliban.
He made it through two villages before they nabbed him.
These vermin need to be exterminated.
He gets murdered...BOOM!....their home village and all those in it sacrifice for the Jihadi good. Have a nice day, you maniacal jihadi losers.
One can have their own opinion about this. I have stated mine.
How I would love to see a flight of AC130 Specter gunships working over this crowd of muslim miscreants with 25mm....
Any thing will work for their excuse, this one is gold plated, as if they care about the freedom of their women.
Yep, I have had enough of the nonsense, let the Marines solve the problems.
