Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer will speak at Syracuse University next week on the financial crisis.
Spitzer's talk, "From Libertarianism to Angry Populism: Have We Learned Anything From the Crisis of the Past Two Years?" will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Maxwell School auditorium.
Spitzer resigned in March 2008, after barely more than a year in office, amid accusations he patronized a prostitute.
The talk is free and open to the public.
..the intellectual elite will fawn all over him.
I see this part of the title of the speech as a signal that Client Number 9 is going to defend Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu. Not surprising; I hear he has a fondness for whores.

Want to pull a liberal elite's chain and watch them go ‘blood’ red ask to see the FED’s books.
[Have We Learned Anything From the Crisis of the Past Two Years?]
Yeah, prostitutes are very, very expensive.
Is he there to fondle a few coeds?
..the intellectual elite will fawn all over him.
As a Syracuse grad, I concur.
The lefties on the hill will be in ‘full teenage girl mode at a Jonas Brothers concert’ in worshiping yet another ‘progressive’ politician.
I love my Orange but the loons running the university are a joke.
“He’s right kids. It’s a gasser” —The Nutty Professor (original)
Put in Mark Sanford to make it bipartisan.
Don't feel too badly... Ayers was invited to speak at my College - amidst rabid criticism by most of the Alum. Ayers showed-up and any and all of my donations (and from many others, from what I've heard) ceased on that day.
I wonder what the point is with having a disgraced hypocrite come to speak at any place of higher learning?
Why? Will he be wearing his asshat?
Spitzer was outed and punished for political sins against AIG. He was given the task of destroying the AIG leadership so it could be taken over and used as a tool
The ousted leader had billions and used that money to successfully destroy Spitzer
Remember.... the Democrat Party is a criminal enterprise
Isn’t this like asking the fox the best way to guard the hen house?

|'Saturday Night Live' mocks Governor Paterson's blindness, past drug use
by Stephanie Gaskell
Sunday, December 14th 2008
|Saturday Night Live pushed the envelope last night with... Fred Armisen as Paterson during a segment on "Weekend Update." ...Armisen, as Paterson, says he has three criteria: economic experience, upstate influence and someone with a disability who is completely unprepared for the job - just like him. "I want to choose a senator not from the glitzy coke parties of Manhattan but rather from the shabbier coke circles of upstate new york," he said. "I'm tired of all these fancy, two-eyed smart alecs from the big city running the whole show. It's time we get someone from Utica, Syracuse or Schnectady - towns where people have something a little off about him. I mean, they don't have to be blind," he said. "I just need someone with like a gamey arm or maybe the giant gums with the tiny teeth. Let's get one of those in the Senate." The fake Paterson points out that he only became governor because of former Gov. Eliot Spitzer's prostition scandal. "Whoever is appointed senator must - like me - be caught totally off guard and be comically unprepared to take office," he said. "Come on, I'm a blind man who loves cocaine who was suddenly appointed governor of New York. My life is an actual plot from a Richard Pryor movie."|
Gentlemen...your thread awaits.
How is it that a guy like this can reclaim his reputation?
He was an attorney general while he was engaged in illegal behavior. He should be in jail.
This is the state of public education, the last bastion of forgiveness for the decietful and despicable progressive populists who never had a soul to begin with. Bet wall streets laughing

Amen. I am an SU Orangemen grad too. Whoops! I used the pre-PC term.
I had lunch with a retired SU professor over Christmas. He was a real professor - not "McStudies." He confirmed that the liberals are running Syracuse into the ground with their PC garbage. However, that makes them just like almost every other college or university out there.
I was an engineering major. My alumni magazine from the LC College of Engineering at Syracuse is now a joke. It is "green" this and "diversity" that.
Even engineering has been taken over by the liberals.
Another waste of money and time.
I holeheartedly endorse Eliot Spitzer in the Democratic Primary for Senate.
re: “amid accusations he patronized a prostitute”
ROFL. I think it went beyond mere “accusations” since the scumbag resigned and issued a tearful public apology
I realize that media have to use all their “allegedly” terms for legal reasons when someone has not been convicted of a certain crime, but in this case I think the perp publicly confessed (although maybe his exact words left some weasel room - I don’t feel like looking them up)
I've seen teenage girls swooning over the Jonas brothers. What a picture, and I think you have it right there.
Wanna bet it was written by a journalism major?
Good thing xsboy isn’t there yet! I do believe they will tick off some alumni with this guy.
oh this isn’t new. xshub will have a series of coronaries with this stuff over the next 4 years. even just dealing with the housing situation for xsboy next year he said he had the sinking feeling of remembering how the ONLY thing he liked about SU was the sports! ROR!
Other than his usual tax, spend, and "let's do it for the children" policies I can't imagine what it might be.
Don’t know if you saw this....
This article is just like the one about Pelosi speaking at Cornell. Very short and abrupt, like it was written because someone HAD to cover it because they had a job to do, but didn’t put in any more than was absolutely necessary.
The comments at the end of the article in the Post-Standard aren’t any better than the ones about Pelosi either.
While the leadership at SU may be liberal, it’s nice to know that the rest of CNY hasn’t really gone that way yet.
Sorry about Ithaca.....
Weird thing about Cornell is, I know a couple profs down there and they are anything BUT liberal.
Right now the weather is better than what most of the east coast is seeing.....
How disgusting.... Here they are protecting and paying one of their own.
