Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer will speak at Syracuse University next week on the financial crisis.

Spitzer's talk, "From Libertarianism to Angry Populism: Have We Learned Anything From the Crisis of the Past Two Years?" will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Maxwell School auditorium.

Spitzer resigned in March 2008, after barely more than a year in office, amid accusations he patronized a prostitute.

The talk is free and open to the public.

Just another example of how higher ed is primarily a vehicle for socialists and thugs to rehabilitate themselves (see, eg, William Ayers)

“angry populism”

I see this part of the title of the speech as a signal that Client Number 9 is going to defend Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu. Not surprising; I hear he has a fondness for whores.

Populism and its many variations is the new derogatory ‘buzz’ word accusation, against anyone thinking they have a standing in demanding the ‘gods’ of global finance show US the books.

Want to pull a liberal elite's chain and watch them go ‘blood’ red ask to see the FED’s books.

[Have We Learned Anything From the Crisis of the Past Two Years?]

Yeah, prostitutes are very, very expensive.

I am from Syracuse and am proud of the SU basketball team not the administration. They denied the Boy Scouts the use of the Dome because they don't PROMOTE gay scout leaders. By the way Spitzer’s successor Patterson is rumored to have a huge scandal of his own this week.

As a Syracuse grad, I concur.

The lefties on the hill will be in ‘full teenage girl mode at a Jonas Brothers concert’ in worshiping yet another ‘progressive’ politician.

I love my Orange but the loons running the university are a joke.

He should team up with Jim McGreevey and take the show on the road.

Put in Mark Sanford to make it bipartisan.

Don't feel too badly... Ayers was invited to speak at my College - amidst rabid criticism by most of the Alum. Ayers showed-up and any and all of my donations (and from many others, from what I've heard) ceased on that day.

I wonder what the point is with having a disgraced hypocrite come to speak at any place of higher learning?

Spitzer was outed and punished for political sins against AIG. He was given the task of destroying the AIG leadership so it could be taken over and used as a tool

The ousted leader had billions and used that money to successfully destroy Spitzer

Remember.... the Democrat Party is a criminal enterprise

Image and video hosting by TinyPic 'Saturday Night Live' mocks Governor Paterson's blindness, past drug use
by Stephanie Gaskell
Sunday, December 14th 2008
Saturday Night Live pushed the envelope last night with... Fred Armisen as Paterson during a segment on "Weekend Update." ...Armisen, as Paterson, says he has three criteria: economic experience, upstate influence and someone with a disability who is completely unprepared for the job - just like him. "I want to choose a senator not from the glitzy coke parties of Manhattan but rather from the shabbier coke circles of upstate new york," he said. "I'm tired of all these fancy, two-eyed smart alecs from the big city running the whole show. It's time we get someone from Utica, Syracuse or Schnectady - towns where people have something a little off about him. I mean, they don't have to be blind," he said. "I just need someone with like a gamey arm or maybe the giant gums with the tiny teeth. Let's get one of those in the Senate." The fake Paterson points out that he only became governor because of former Gov. Eliot Spitzer's prostition scandal. "Whoever is appointed senator must - like me - be caught totally off guard and be comically unprepared to take office," he said. "Come on, I'm a blind man who loves cocaine who was suddenly appointed governor of New York. My life is an actual plot from a Richard Pryor movie."

How is it that a guy like this can reclaim his reputation?

He was an attorney general while he was engaged in illegal behavior. He should be in jail.
