No. 1 economic problem: Not enough babies
World Net Daily ^ | February 6, 2010 | Michael Master

On "Forbes on Fox" on Jan. 30, 2010, the discussion turned to how population is affecting the U.S. economy. The panelists and Steve Forbes agreed that the USA needs more babies.

The No. 1 variable affecting our economy today is the decision by our government, from the late 1960s to 1985, to promote zero-population growth, with the number of births decreasing. The birthrate fell from 2.3 children per family to 1.3 at times. To maintain a population, a birthrate of 2.1 children is required. That decreased birthrate has impacted everything from demand for products to health-care costs to relaxed immigration laws and Social Security shortfalls.

As of 2008, the number of people between the ages of 40 and 55 has been decreasing as a percent of the total population. It is not a coincidence that the economy took a dive in 2008. This age group has the highest impact on the economy and is at its highest income. It is consuming the most products. This age group lives in big houses that require lots of furniture. They buy additional cars. They pay the most taxes. Their children are teenagers and college students with big consumption. So as this group is decreasing, so is the economy. And this age group will not increase again until 2022.

The top supporter of abortion is Barack Obama. He even supports partial-birth abortion and infanticide. And he wants no restrictions on abortion of any kind while he promotes more government intervention to correct the problems from zero-population growth that liberal government caused.

It is stupid to think that programs from those very liberals who caused zero-population growth (actually it was negative population growth) are going to correct the problems to the economy and health care.

Government intervention caused the problem; more government intervention will not solve the problem.

Either have more babies or destroy more liberals. Either will help the economy but I prefer the latter solution. Why bring a child into this corrupt society?

Well it’s about time that this come up for discussion. I have been harping about the demographic and economic catastrophe caused by abortion for years now.

And the only Western country that has gotten out in front of this demographic problem is France where a family of 3 children or more pay zero tax.

Partly true.

Full truth: Not enough babies FROM THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

Despite the fact that libs support abortion, the most fertile (in a children-per-woman sense) demographics are low-income minorities who the Democrats reel in from a young age.

Think that part of it is due to people having fewer children... or not at all.

It is probably due to more prosperity and reproductive rights for women. More birth control vs abortion.

Leave it to the liberals to start Medicare and Social Security, and then kill 50 million of the unborn children who would pay for it later on.

The book “America Alone” by Mark Steyn has a good discussion on population. Recommended reading.

50 million abortions of which there would have been at least 25 million children from the aborted for a total of 75 million Americans not here with us today.

It’s not the number of babies, it’s the non-PC rule of the ‘Quality’ of the babies.

Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and successful married couples, may (emphasis on ‘may’) decide to raise a couple kids. Genetically speaking, the prime genetic parents are replacing themselves - while the uneducated, lazy and generally inferior specimens are reproducing like flies.

In layman terms, the inmates are reproducing faster than the Wardens.

Parents who have no value on education, personal achievement, assuming personal responsibility, respect for others and a drive to better themselves - will tend to produce children who have no desire to achieve, become self-sufficient and will demand that everyone give them their due ‘entitlements’.

Thank you Liberals, your values have doomed us and our children.

One of the big problems of Rome was the lack of native born children, and it’s going to be our big problem, too. Our birthrate is still higher than that of most European countries, but it’s dropping.

i’v done my part. I have three kids. I asked my hubby if he was sure he didn’t want another one(ours are already 12,14,16)

it came down to this...not enough money. we have raised, beautiful, smart, conservative kids. I’d love to make more. but who the heck can afford it? our house is not big enough and we have three kids to help put through college.

Quality. Yep, let all the ‘inferior’ stop having kids... say, let’s just sterilize them (ala Buck case, Sanger, or Holdren/Zeke Emanuel/Dash recently); Hitler sure learned a lot from us; Sounds very Cold Spring Harbor, eugenics wise.
Then of course you get migration (legal or not), goodbye culture.

Many dictators thought doctors, lawyers, engineers and professors had to go...

If you kill one, you’ll kill another. Socialists don’t learn from history, they just think it wasn’t done enough.

“The Aborted Generation” is seriously hampering our efforts to win the War on Terror, plus maintain our global military presence—just not enough 18 year old soldiers any more.

“The Aborted Generation” is the root cause of the Social Security/Medicare/Pension crisies looming on the horizon—just not enough 18 year old workers any more.

“The Aborted Generation” is the reason why colleges and univesities are now emphasizing “lifelong learning” and States are mandating “continuing education” for more and more licensed professions—just not enough 18 year old freshmen any more.

Abortion = Our Nation and most of the world hung by it’s own petard. It is genocide against generations. It is the suicide of nations and cultures. It’s effects will be eternal. It should be the #1 so-called “fiscal conservative” issue. It should also be the #1 national security issue. And anyone who knows that God is just knows that we are in more peril than Sodom and Gomorrah ever were.

I am new to posting on Free Republic but felt I should suggest two documentaries. “Demographic Winter” and “Demographic Bomb”. The first one gives a good picture of what happens when a nation has a declining birth rate. I believe it was filmed in 2005 and predicted the economic collapse to happen around 2009 based on birth rates.

I think you misunderstand what I am saying. Being stupid, mentally difficient, or of the ‘wrong’ race is not a Liberal policy.

We have ‘inferior’, and by inferior I do mean intellecutally disabled, but more specifically culturally inferior groups that are reproducing irresponsibly (no idea who the father is, never had a job, illerate, generally stupid people) who have children because of two reasons. First, the goverment ‘encourages’ this by giving them free housing, more money to buy goods, free food, free medical and other associated programs. This is a Liberal policy, and has nothing to do with Conservatism. The Liberals have determined that everyone is entitled to everything, regardless of whether that person works for it or not.

Conversely, those who work are discouraged by having more of their income confiscated by taxes. Consider, in the 1950’s it was common to tax shelter 50-60% of your income, due to taxes shelters paid on car loans, fees, sales tax, local taxes etc. It was commonplace for families to survive quite comfortably on a single income. The harder you work, not only do you pay more in tax, the rate of how much is forcibly taken from you increases as well - and the amount of tax deductions you get is dimminished.

The result is obvious. I go to college, I get ‘x’ years of experience in my field, I did this so that my wife and I could enjoy some benefits of our hard work. If this means that instead of having 3.6 kids, we have 1.7; the choice is an easy one. Have 1.7 kids and take the nice vacations, buy the nice car and nicer home; or have 3.6 kids and live the less luxurious lifestyle.

Guess what? Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and other of our brightest are not having as many children as the less educated among us. In a great many cases, they are taking themselves out of the gene pool entirely. Not to worry, though ... the welfare folk are more than making up the difference.

Back in the 50’s Schools rewarded achievement. The idea of ‘Pass to Play’ was never even a thought, it was assumed. The average grade was a ‘C’ and you had to work to get it. If you didn’t work, you flunked. If you flunked, there was social stigma attached, much like the military ‘Dishonorable Discharge’. There were consequences. Today, thanks to our Libtards, there are no consequences, there is no wrong answer and conversely, there is no ‘right’ answer.

Today, we cannot do enough for the loser. We will lower our standards so the dumbest man in the room can pass. In many cases, simply showing up is ‘good enough’. Can’t get a job because you have no interest in learning? No problem, we’ll impose ‘Diversity’ so we can over-look qualifications and insure ‘Equality of results, instead of ‘equality of access to achieve’.

The result of these libtard polices? The brightest of us are chosing to live their life with fewer children, so they can enjoy more of the benefits of their work. The dumber people are encouraged to reproduce to get more money from the workers, without having to work themselves.

These are Libtard policies, and they have doomed us all.

I understand what you are saying...but would not totally agree with your conclusion. I start from the point of view that humans are created in the image of God so I cannot accept the idea of ‘inferior’ people. I would agree that there are a lot of people that have been lied to and are now living in that lie. The information I have seen appears to show that the decline in having children goes across income and education levels...granted the high income levels tend to have fewer children than lower but all income levels are decreasing. Nationally the issue does not appear to be money but the desire to give of ourselves to the next generation...do I need all the stuff or can I do with out some stuff and instead have another child...

I would suggest seeing the documentary “Demographic Winter”. It goes through several of the reasons we are seeing a decline in birthrates and that there are certain groups that are still having children and it has nothing to do with income...

It came to me about two years ago. Abortion has left the real of a moral issue and has become a National Security issue. We’ve take, proportionately, more casualties from abortion that ever did from the Civil War or Europe did from WWI.

I can see where you could have made the assumption you made. But the part that I sincerely appreciate, is that you were not rude, you pointed out the flaw in my perceived direction of thought, and you brought it out.

That’s one of the many flaws of posting, you have no idea of the tone of my voice, body posture or other indicators that can cause mis-communications.

Nice to have met you, and I have no doubt we will meet again.
