Jones was not talking out of the top of his head, but on the strength of solid US intelligence gathered over months on detailed war plans Iran, Syria, Hizballah and Hamas have drawn up to send five Hizballah brigades sweeping across the border to seize five sectors of Galilee, while also organizing a massive Israeli-Arab uprising against the Jewish state. Hamas would open a second front in the south and in the east. Syria is expected to step in at some stage. This plan with attached special map was first published exclusively by DEBKA-Net-Weekly 430 on Jan. 22, 2010. Key excerpts appear here.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards instructors at especially established training facilities near Tehran are already well advanced in training a cadre of 5,000 Hizballah fighters in special operations and urban combat tactics to standards equivalent to those current in similar US and Israeli military forces.

Can you say “artillery?”
I knew you could.
The Whalers cry may soon be heard in the ME...”Thar she blows.”
Why the death cultists never get anywhere and always remain poor and ignorant: they spend all their time and energy on killing Jews and Christians.
Hizballah = Syrian Army Expeditionary Force. It’s time to call them what they really are.

At Ease !!!!
It will be hard for the rear brigades of Hiz_dulla to climb over the bodies of the front ones.
Along with encouraging belief in G-d and His saving grace, the Holy Bible also encourages hard work, productivity, and the correct use of the fruits of mankind’s labor.
The Koran encourages only the pillaging and theft of the goods and productivity of “infidels” by Muslims.
The proof is the insidious “jizya” tax; Mad Mo figured out that dead “infidels” pay no taxes, but live ones do.
Could this be what Ahmadinejad’s ‘punch’ to the West?
I read the article, and here are some initial reactions:
1. A Hezbollah/Syrian incursion into Israel won’t end well for Syria and Hezbollah. They have only been successful in fighting defensive battles, not offensive ones. They have been successful in luring Israeli units into ambush zones within Lebanon. An offensive campaign would be completely different, and not even the UN Security Council would object to Israel pulling out all the stops to defend it’s own sovereign territory from an invasion (but you can expect Crazy Hugo to make another entertaining speech).
2. An Israeli Arab uprising is not likely. Hezbollah is not as popular among the Israeli Arab community as some might think. Hezbollah is NOT seen as synonymous with the Palestinian organizations, which Israeli Arabs sympathize with more than Syrian/Lebanese groups.
3. Although an incursion would likely end poorly for the Syrians and Hezbollah like I mentioned, they are still probably crazy enough to try it. The 2006 conflict didn’t end. It just got the “pause” button pushed on it.
4. Very wishful thinking on my part, but I’m hoping that such an event would stretch the Syrian regime thin enough (already stretched thin as it is just holding onto its own power from various internal factions) that their hold on Lebanon starts to fall. Even more wishful thinking, what if we could get an Iraqi Army peacekeeping force into Lebanon? They have plenty of first-hand experience on destroying Iranian proxies.
It is Debka. Every now and again, there are elements of truth in their articles.
THE AMAZING FLYING JIHADIS !!
Catch the previews at the Weasel Zipper War Porn thread!
Of course the Israelis have no idea this is happening.
Hizbullah=Wile E Coyote.
They better have a lot of body bags with them. And shovels to fill them. I doubt there would be much left after a couple hours.
This is incredible! I can't believe it! It can't be true! US intelligence found something???!!!
On the face of it, I’d say somebody’s been smoking too much bhang. Do they actually think they have sufficient (accurate) rocket artillery to seriously damage Israeli military bases in the area? As opposed to randomly terrorizing civilians as in ‘06?
What do they have in the way of vehicles and armor? Are these “brigades” supposed to assault on foot the whole way? How are they to be resupplied? What do they have in the way of mobile arty?
Does Bashar seriously believe he can pull this off without exposing himself (personally) and the rest of his regime to an all-out blasting if he puts his oar in?
How many Israeli Arabs really want to derail their comfy existence by playing 1948-all-over-again?
IIRC, Hezbollah has laid a whole bunch of land mines around the Golan.

From the article it sounds like it might have been an IDF land mine.
I seriously doubt that. Who did the judging?
Also from Debka - quanity not mentioned - meanwhile Iran sent Syria 100 millsels - type not mentioned.
Syria slips HizballahFateh-110 (Syrian-made ) missiles able to destroy Israeli cities
...a solid-fuel propellant, road-mobile, single-stage, short-range ballistic system weighing three tons with a half-ton warhead and a range of 250 kilometers. It is not deployed in surface batteries but fired from mobile launchers, which the solid propellant renders capable of firing at speed with little advance preparation, before returning to the fortified underground silos Hizballah has sunk in mountain areas across Lebanon...
Maybe this is the punch that Ayatollah Khameini warned about earlier today. A Syrian and Hezbollah attack on Northern Israel. We’ll see. I’m sure israeel is ready for whatever the barbarians are planning. I’m praying for Israel’s success.
Yeah. I couldn’t find the article about the laying of the land mines. SJackson might know.
Perhaps they have a new trick up their sleeve God forbid!!
From what I read, this will be a multi-front assault: north, insurgents on the West Bank, and from the south. And what bothers me most is that it isn’t hush-hush.
I’m thinking the unthinkable here, folks, so bear with me: could small nukes already be situated inside Israel?
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
Is this, perhaps the advertised February 11 Festivities? If something like does happen I certainly hope the US and Israel use it as the trigger to go ahead and dump their load on Iran. Perhaps it would happen in conjunction with Iran’s announcement of nukes on missiles and an implied or stated dare.
..what a picture - kinda says it all - doesn’t it?
Might not have anything to do with this war. There are stiil mines in the Golan from 1967.
With The One, (who thinks the Muslim caterwaul, aka the call to prayer, is the most beautiful sound on earth) in control of US forces, they are more likely to be used against the Israeli "aggressors" than Iran or even Hzb'allah sites.
Probably not many. But just few could make it appear that a major uprising was in progress.
Remember it only took one to kill 14 Americans, including an unborn child, at Ft. Hood. It only took about 20 to kill around 3,000 on 9-11.
Eu nu pot intelege un cuvint Tocmai ti-ai scris.
Remember, our government disarmed all the Good Guys to facilitate this slaughter.
Israel chose the other route. A shooter will draw awesome return fire from all quadrants.
Oh, by the way Switzerland who like Israel arms its citizens hasn’t been conquered in a thousand years.
Inay on’tday eakspay athay atoispay.
My thoughts exactly.
Thinking about it some more, IMO this is saber-rattling designed to satisfy internal elements in Syria.
