Wonder when they’ll complain about separation of church and state?

I am always sorry for the families of people like Murtha. Still, I have to believe he left them fairly well off monetarily.
Due to his having served in Viet Nam, I hope he finds a cooler area in hell that isn’t quite as hot as the rest.

Russell is a class act, but let the debate continue on Murtha’s legacy after this 5 days.

Regardless of your political position, you always knew Jack had an immense love and loyalty to his family and the residents of the 12th Congressional District.Very classy. That said.....Jack.....was a disgrace to his elected position and the uniform he once wore. Being loyal to his own self interests and enrichment will be Jacks legacy.

Fine. But I hope he's ready to lift that campaign moratorium TOOT SWEET at the SLIGHTEST sign the Dems might be trying to pull a “Carnahan”.

Why are you commenting on the thread then?
To: hoosiermama
I didn't care what he said about the fools who were braindead enough to elect him 19 times. It's what he said about our military that bothered me.

Of course; that’s the decent thing to do. I’d have been disappointed in him had he not. As despicable as Jack Murtha was, one’s political opponents must maintain their character and “class” at a time like this.

Yea Only liberals are so mean and arrogant as to use this opportunity to say Good I am glad he is gone. etc etc”
While conservatives feel that he was just plain wrong on all of the issues, they wanted to defeat him at the ballot box, not the burial box.
We can seperate our loathing of his policies with wishing the best for his family, friends and staff.
“May God give them all strength.
Besides having those hateful feelings toward the person not the person’s actions or policies will only hurt ourselves.

As good a man as Bill Russell apparently is, one can’t help but wonder if he has not had at least one vision, this afternoon, of him taking the oath of office.

On the personal level...I'm sorry for the loss and I offer condolences to his family.
On the political level...good riddance.

Smoothsailing, I remember you from the '06 Campaign. I know that you know Diana Irey; will she be running again or should we all get behind Bill Russell in the Special Election in May.

He better hope that Iraq Marines or his Districk Rednecks are not polled where he should end up.

I have sympathy for the family who has lost a member of that clan. That is about it..I don’t care one whit for Murtha and would not salute his coffin. He disgraced himself for what he did to the Haditha Marines and Marines are not likely to forget it.
To: no dems
Diana will not be running, and we should all work hard for Bill.
To: smoothsailing
Why drag the family into it?
I don’t wish them ill will but they are nothing to me - as honest, patriotic Americans were nothing to Murtha.
They are living fat on the money Murtha screwed out of American taxpayers. I feel sorry for the people he extorted tax money from and the patriots and Marines he dumped on.
I have the same sense of loss for Murtha as I had for Ted Kennedy.
