"Mister President and Members of Congress, I start my comments on healthcare with a simple question: Why?
The power of our government is derived through the constitution from the consent of the governed.
Mr. President, by what consent, by what consensus, are we empowered to fundamentally change the healthcare system in the United States of America? The congress represents the fifty states, the District of Columbia and various US territories around the world. Yet I cannot find even a simple majority, much less a mandate, in ANY state, for fundamentally turning the existing healthcare system upside down. So then Mr. President, WHY are we here, are we doing the will of the people by even having this discussion?
In fact, based on polls I've seen, if we put comprehensive national healthcare reform on a referendum in every state, on average it would lose by well over ten percentage points in every state. This would be one of the most ignominious political defeats in our Republic's history!
Mr. President, we've been excluded ths far from this pig of a healthcare bill your party has created. Now, sir, you invite us to help you dress it up and put lipstick on it and somehow try to convince the American people that this is what they want. They're smarter than that. Your pig is ugly now, and makeup, bandaids and even cosmetic surgury won't make it prettier to the American people.
Mr. President, you asked for our inputs into the healthcare debate. Here they are:
1. Kill the pig. Scrap the entire healthcare bill as it is currently written, our economy cannot afford the short-term loss of tax dollors being taken now for a system that won't even be in place for several more years and is something our constituents clearly don't want.
2. End the war...the most expensive war in the history of the United States! Not Afghanistan or Iraq...but the war between the Doctors and the Lawyers. Do this through meaningful national tort reform.
3. Remove the barriers to open competition. Require states to allow unlimited, unfettered competition from all insurance carriers who wish to compete in order to bring down costs and offer more options for every American citizen.
4. Allow transportability of all policies between states to improve continuity of care and allow those who are happy with their care to keep it.
5. Do not make cuts to Medicare. Those who are about to go on Medicare have paid taxes for a lifetime to guarantee their coverage in their later years. It is a travesty to even suggest any cuts for these derserving individuals.
6. Don't make abortion public policy. Get it out of the bill.
Mr. President, we're not going to get dragged into discussions about your pig, or how we can make the pig prettier. Kill it, and allow us to help you focus on the points we have enumerated. Thank You!
7. Any new taxes or increases on existing taxes will NOT BE TOLERATED! PERIOD!
Works for me
What about the other seven states?
I’ll OINK to THAT! Good job! Now let’s hear Republicans say just that!
Any Republican who goes into this with ‘Let’s Make a Deal,” on their minds is a traitor and a Vichy Republican. Period.
Thisis the speech that we need to hear...
1 is good, but 2 through 5 are not consistent with the opening statement, and 6 goes with 1, so I would say just scrap the bill and be done with it.
Will they fold like a cheap camera? Whether they know it or not there are many watching how the Republicans react and how they stand thier ground, if they do at all.
That is my fear. That is why they have to be firm from the start and NOT COMPROMISE ON ANYTHING! Once they start getting into the weeds with this bill, they’ll be immersed in the details and will lose sight of how bad the bill actually is.
They have to be FIRM on scrapping the bill!
Give doctors a income tax credit for care they give away for free. Make it modest, say $75 an hour. They give away 100 hours away in a year, they take $7,500 off the top of their tax bill.
It’s gotta be simple, one sound bite repeated over and over so that it penetrates through the MSM.
This health care “debate” is a public relations gimmick by Obama in hopes that the Republicans will stumble or be portrayed as stumbling to give the Rats cover to shove Obamacare down our throats through reconciliation.
The sound bite has to be: “The debate cannot begin until Obama abandons the current bills and agrees to start over.” Simple. Repeat it constantly to the media.
The American people do not want a massive federal government takeover of health care. This has been shown in polls and in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts. In polls, the more people know about Obamacare the more they hate it.
You are a marxist commie kenyan muzzie and a lying sos... FUBO.
Sincerely,
The Republican Party
P.S.
Show the BC you faggot!
Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)
New Dem mantra: Woof, woof eat dog food granny....ala let them eat cake.
Better idea: Republicans: We have a mandate from the voters of all 50 states to kill this bill!!!!
What could be an easier slogan!
But that is a pipe dream...I live in Memphis and it is dangerous enough as it is with out those kind of signs on my car in my neighborhood. LOL. I've been educating the seniors I run into in the grocery store and Navy Commissary. You'd be amazed how many don't know what is in obamadeathcare.
