Nevada Governor: Reid Trails Sandoval, Beats Other GOP Hopefuls
Rasmussen Reports ^
| February 8, 2010

The first Rasmussen Reports look at this years election for governor of Nevada finds Democrat Rory Reid, son of Senator Harry Reid, trailing Republican frontrunner Brian Sandoval by 12 points, 45% to 33%, among likely voters in the state.
Things improve dramatically for Reid if Sandoval, a former Nevada attorney general and U.S. District Court judge, is not the GOP nominee.
Reid leads embattled Republican Governor Jim Gibbons 44% to 35%.
Against North Las Vegas Mayor Mike Montandon, he posts a 40% to 36% lead.
In the three contests, just over 10% prefer another candidate, while anywhere from eight percent (8%) to 12% are undecided.

Is this the same Rasmussen who said Brown will lose in Mass? I thought so. Why listen to a loser?

It’s surprising that someone with Rory Reid’s name I.D. would be polling only around 40%.

Is the Judge actively campaigning for the nomination? Tricky, if you’re a sitting judge.

Up to just before the election, he had Brown losing. Changing your mind at the last minute means you haven’t been reading the tea leaves properly. Not a very good prognosticator.

Rasmussen is the most accurate pollster out there. He only did a couple of MA polls, and both showed a tightening trend. He didn’t poll in the last week at all, which is when Brown picked up massive support.

Gibbons needs to get out, period.

He was and still is. Polls show him leading Harry Reid by about 5 - 10 percentage points.

The only thing I heard was a short preview of what he was going to say on KXNT.
Something about 10% cuts in education, services, close prisons etc.
You know, the common scare tactics, we’re going to have to fire teachers, bigger class rooms blah blah.
I didn’t catch the speech so didn’t hear the actual details.

Sandoval resigned his post as a Federal judge months ago. He will win the Republican primary and go on to beat Rory Reid.

He and zogby were on Hannity’s show the day before and the BOTH predicted a 2% or less Victory by coakley. He may have predicted Brown later... but those are the facts.

Gibbons is more unpopular than Harry Reid. I’m surprised Oscar Goodman, the Vegas Mayor, hasn’t jumped in the Governor race.
