PREMIERE President of Content and Affiliate Relations JULIE TALBOTT responded to WABC's move to cancel "COAST TO COAST AM" by telling ALL ACCESS, "It’s shocking when a top-rated program is removed from a station. However, we’re incredibly proud that COAST TO COAST AM continues to be the most-listened-to overnight radio program in NORTH AMERICA, broadcasting live on 527 affiliates to more than three million passionate and loyal listeners each week who enjoy hearing one of the most relevant and entertaining shows in the news-talk world."

I'm sorry to hear it's being canceled; I'll miss it.

It's been cancelled by WABC in the NYC area. They've replaced CTC with a RINO named Doug McIntyre.

CTC is alive and well everywhere else.

Mc Intyre was here in LA for years. He seemed to be faking "conservative" in order to please the talk radio audience and got a morning drive time spot but his liberality would leak out, especially lately and I would tune him out.

good riddance, I hope they bump hannity up or bring back Ingraham Now he can cut loose in liberaland He was about the only alternative on morning drive time to Bill Handel who is a totally whiny babbling beligerant jackarse

If it’s black, has a teleprompter, starts his sentences with “uh” and reaches into your wallet constantly..you have a problem. It could be a “corpse-man”.

How will I now know when black helicopters are over my house or aliens are trying to abduct and eat my dog?

The need to punt Punnett. He’s hurting the show and driving listeners away.

When I did a lot of night driving used to listen to Bell before I thankfully ‘discovered’ XM Radio.... I used to admire Art’s schtick, as he was doing a ‘job’, but the callers could be downright scary....I mean he would ‘egg them on’, but I guess when someone gives you a platform to tell how you were probed the 2nd or 3rd time you were abducted you really don’t need a whole lot of prompting...

Art Bell always claimed to be a Libertarian.

I was somewhat shocked several months ago, while listening to one of those rare shows hosted by Art.

Art said, “I was an early supporter of Barack Obama.”

I didn’t know that!

George has improved somewhat over the years, but he’s still Chinese plastic, to Art’s Brazilian mahogany.

LOL. Great comparison.

I mostly only listen on weekends now, when Ian and others are at the mic. They’re not quite as irritating as George is.

Same here. And once in a blue moon, Art is back. Like last week when Art subbed and interviewed the theoretical physicist Michio Kaku. That was a great show. Nobody can interview a guest like Art Bell.

What I’ve really gotten into on late weeknights is the Midnight Radio Network (the trucking show). The hosts really get into the political scene, and have a strong conservative bent.

I don't know anything about the Midnight Radio Network. I will have to look it up.

I like them better than everyone on daytime talk radio, except Rush. They’re terrific.

That sounds like something I would like to listen to.

KFI has it in LA instead of KABC I believe

WRKO in Boston dropped it because Premiere/Clear Channel is launching a talk station at AM 1200 in April and C2C should be headed there. WRKO also lost Prem/CC’s Glenn Beck which they were running as a best of on Sat nights. Replaced by Howie Carr re-runs and Rodger Hedgecock respectively

Man, no kidding. Noory is no Art Bell. Not by any stretch of the imagination, no pun intended. I keep wanting to shout at him, “Shut up about politics and stretch the envelope already, would ya?”

I've been a listener to C2C since Art Bell was on in the 80's. It was a deep loss for the show. Noory has been a schlub imo though.

I tagged him as a Democrat sympathizer a long time ago.

During Katrina Noory absolutely excoriated Michael Brown. I was wondering if he would do the same for Democrats who have colossal screw ups. I am still waiting. There have been any number of foul ups and Noory is still silent.

When President Bush was in office there would be any number of calls bashing him. After Bammo got into office someone said something unkind about him and Noory gently chided him about how we needed to respect the President.

It seemed to me that bad news about Democrats was routinely ignored, and good news about Republicans would likewise be ignored. Sure enough, when Scott Brown won in Massachusetts there was no mention about it in his lead off monologue. Seriously now, this was a transfixing election, one that still has Democrats stunned. Kind of like a mouse staring into the eyes of a Cobra. But to Noory, it was not noteworthy.

Now, I enjoy all the alien stuff, the Annanaki chronicles and the conspiracy theories. It's great listening, but there are tremendous issues facing us, and we have a Presidential Administration which has put the whole country into a state of fear and angst. A lot of this should have been fodder for Noory. But ole go along, get along Noory can't be bothered. In the old days of Art Bell, he would have callers square off to debate Democrat vs Republican issues. If chicken George had the kind of guts Art had, he might not be facing cancellations. I pretty much don't listen to the show anymore, and I wish Noory well. I'm sure he will eventually land some other gig that he can screw up.

I too listened to Bell in the 1980s when he broadcast from a hotel in Vegas. He was local on KDWN and we can get the station in northern California.

I agree with you. Good comments.

RE: "In the old days of Art Bell, he would have callers . . ".

Of course Art did not have a screener. I am not a talker I've been caller on local shows no more than three times.

I have had Noory respond to two of the few Fast Blasts, though.

One prompted him to ask his guest about Democrats helping the Nazis - - Prescott Bush was not the only American doing it. The guest not only confirmed it but named some Democrats. Noory was surprised (and likely promptly forgot it.)

I'm ten years older than Noory and I figure he's a FDR Democrat, patriotic and good American but he hates Republicans.

Art Bell lost my respect when he went nuts over that global warming stuff and we had to do something about it right now! He even had abductees of aliens claiming that the aliens lectured them about the problem. He jumped the shark IMO.

Here you go:

Midnight Trucking Radio Network

Eric Harley and Gary Macnamara are the hosts. Great listening.

You should be able to look up what radio station carries them in your area on the site. If there isn't one close enough for you to get their signal, you can listen live online.

I don't have much to add to your thoughts, except to say that Coast to Coast AM isn't centered around politics, but the otherworldly.

That being said, if the host crosses the line into current events of a socio-political nature, then they're opening themselves up to questions of partisanship, and they make themselves fair game for the listeners, at that point.

Back in the early days of GWB's term in office, Art was a die-hard patriotic supporter of the administration, and made no bones about it. Unlike Noory, he came down hard on the side of America, and was entirely overt about it. I heard him debate with callers many times about his feelings on the WOT.

Noory, on the other hand, has been a squish about politics. I've heard him express strong support for the 2nd Amendment, but he's waffley on the Socialist agenda. Frankly, I don't think he's the brightest bulb in the ceiling. He's easily swayed by liberal guests and callers.

He's like that on lots of things. Go along, get along George.

Shoot..... I remember hearing Art throw a guest off the show once, when he figured out that the guy was full of crap. Noory would never have the guts to do that.
