Barack Obama faces Armageddon in latest polls

Forget “Snowmageddon”. Washington may be deluged under nearly three feet of snow, but Barack Obama is experiencing a sinking feeling of another kind. The latest US polls, highlighted here by Daniel Foster at The Corner at NRO, are stunningly bad for the president. Frankly, the Titanic’s prospects looked better than Obama’s do today, even after it hit the iceberg.

Yep. Obama is getting to where Bush did in the space of a year. He's truly an empty suit and people see it now. He has no ideas, no agenda and no momentum. All he has left is the ability to talk and fewer people are listening. The Obama magic is gone.

It is never good news when you have to send your wife to plead your case with the boss.

Obama is a sissy hiding behind his wife’s skirt.

If beta-obama has it within him, he needs to man-up.

“All three polls demonstrate growing disillusionment across the United States with Barack Obama’s presidency. As the Real Clear Politics Average of US polls shows, 58.2 percent of Americans now believe the country is moving in the “wrong track”. Such figures would not be unusual if they referred to a president well into his second term in office. But they are a measure of a president embarking on the second year of his first term of office, and Barack Obama is now arguably the most unpopular president in modern US history at such an early stage of his presidency.”

People like to compare Obama to Jimmy Carter, but I have another analogy. In 1988 Jim Florio ran for governor of New Jersey and won. As a candidate, he ran as a social liberal but a fiscal conservative, said he was going to cut taxes, trim the budget, etc.

Once he was sworn in, he immediately tacked to the far left. He raised taxes through the roof. He increased the beaurocracy similarly, and the budget soared. He even started trying to regulate how eggs had to be cooked in diners, they had to be broken with no runny yolk. He taxed toilet paper. He did all this in his first year in office. When people said he'd broken his promises, he said he didn't know how bad the books were until he was in office, he had to do all these things to save the state from a crisis yet to come. He blamed the prior eight years of fiscal irresponsibility and false prosperity.

At the time, he was hailed by national democrat strategists as a bold example of how democrats should govern, get a lot of unpopular but (supposedly) important things done really quickly and then have a few years to recover your popularity. This appears to be the Obama example.

Unfortunately for Florio, it didn't work. After that first year he was radioactive. There was nothing he could do to recover. Bumper stickers were out for years that said "Forio Free in '93".

As expected, he was booted out of office in a landslide in 1992. Is Obama walking that same path?

This is what happens when you get a bunch of jugheaded, leftists in power. The Obama team misconstrued, helped mightily by the financial collapse six weeks before the election, the results of an election where they won a “whopping” fiftythree percent of the vote. They thought everybody was on board for no-holds-barred Marxism. They were wrong but still can’t quite get it through their heads how wrong they were. But congressional Dems know how wrong they were.

30% won't get him reelected. He won last time because ACORN managed to clean out every Crack House and Ho House in America and get them to the polls. As noted in the story below, Obama’s only winning strategy during the past year was to take over Jimmy Carter’s position of being the most unpopular President in modern times—

“””As the Real Clear Politics Average of US polls shows, 58.2 percent of Americans now believe the country is moving in the “wrong track”. Such figures would not be unusual if they referred to a president well into his second term in office. But they are a measure of a president embarking on the second year of his first term of office, and Barack Obama is now arguably the most unpopular president in modern US history at such an early stage of his presidency.”””

I think so. Obama tried to do too much in his first year and its a mess. And he won't retrench. He's not a political tactician like Bill Clinton was. Clinton loved the trappings and the substance of power. Obama is the ideological true believer.

Dunno. That might be wishful thinking.

Obama has 35-40% that will vote for him, no matter what. He also has the money (Soros and co., not to mention his own outrageous spending), the media, and fraud (SEIU and ACORN), good for at least another 10%. He just needs enough “moderate” (aka. unthinking idiot) votes to clear the electoral college. So he's betting that there will enough of a recovery by 2012 to get him past the gate.

As for 2010, heck, if the Democrats get creamed, a lame duck Congress might be MORE useful to him. They'll ram through anything he wants before they go home.

The best chance the ‘Pubbies (and by extension, conservatives) have is that someone challenges him in the Democrat Primaries in 2012. Don't see that happening. Yet. But 2012 is a looooong way away.

Of course the Democrats can see this, too. They want a conservative/populist third party to pull votes away from the ‘Pubbies. Heck, I'm surprised they're not bankrolling the Tea Parties and putting in provocateurs to encourage the Tea Party to go third party.

I agree that’s it not a certainty, far from it. But bear in mind that this is New jersey I’m talking about as an example, not a rogue democrat that managed to get elected in, say, Montana. The democrat fraud machine and entrenched democrat voter base is all there and always was, in a big way. And even so, Florio could simply not recover. Corzine has just gone through almost the same thing.

Obama might be better off with a GOP Congress. Having to run for re-election with an unpopular Democratic Congress around his neck is not an albatross he wants to carry in 2012. He's perfectly prepared to throw Pelosi and Reid under the bus to clear the decks for a second term.

He has no ideas, no agenda and no momentum.

"Let me be clear. This is Bush's fault. Get out of the way so I can clean up this mess. I won. I will not quit. I am just getting started. I will visit the corpsemen in all 57 states and make sure all the children who have trouble breathing get breathalyzers. Let me clear, profit and greed are the disease that got us where we are today. As less people are employed, we continue to save more jobs. Let me be clear, I like the thermostat set at 80, and I like pizza from St. Louis.

Let me be clear, this is not about me. I am just a product of a broken home, raised by a typical white woman. I used drugs and hung out with all the cool revolutionaries. I, I, I, I, let me be clear, this is not about me.

Don't watch cable news now that they are on to me. Don't go to las vegas and spend your money in the heart of The Great Satan. Tighten your belts and don't emulate my lifestyle. This is not about me. I repeat, this is Bush's fault. It is not about me."

If someone breaks into your house and you catch him walking out with your big screen TV and he sets it down and begrudgingly leaves. Do you then invite him to dinner the next time you see him since he didn't get away with it? Remember it was yer 44 mag that changed his mind in the first place.

In other words Obama has shown himself to be a common thief, who will quickly forget that?

Correct me if I am wrong, but France is not a member of NATO. However, scrapping NATO is still an excellent idea.

You are missing one thing - Hillary Clinton in the wings. Bammy has pretty much destroyed the dem party (see MA vote). Hillary only has to step down as SOS and the Clinton wing (heavily seeded in the media) will begin the Clinton campaign. This would pretty much destroy bammy forever. The dems are scared, bammy is toxic, and they need someone to show America that they all arn’t crazy socialists. I think Clinton steps down after Billy Clinton gets some fancy medal for the Haiti rescue. I personnally am looking forward to this schism: Clinton wing versus Congressional Black Caucus. It has the potential to remake the party for a long time to come.

I don't know about that...same size posterboard, same style fonts, same color scheme...you'd think if they made them together, they would have at least MISspelled "dream" the same way.

It was probably a group effort, using shared materials and different people...none of whom could spell.
