Angela McGlawon is a big friggin GUN GRABBER!!!!
Listen to Angela, in her own words - youtube
Who?
Uh Oh! I live in the First District Of Mississippi and before hearing this I had a good impression of Angela. I did not know how naive she was. No way I want her casting my vote in Washington.
Yeah, who? Context, please?
She didn’t say she was anti gun. She needs to think what it means when the government knows your business, let’s hope she is capable of learning.
I saw and heard her at the Tea Party in Nashville over the weekend and she gave one of the best speeches. If she were running here I wouldn’t throw her under the bus just yet. She’s probably a whole lot better than what you presently have.
Yeah, context would help here. Anyone as Not Guilty as her deserves the benefit of the doubt.
She sounds really neive on gun control. She claims anyone stockpiling guns is getting ready for a race war. SHE SUCKS!!
Call her up. Visit her office. Educate her. If she’s really conservative, she can be convinced by evidence. When CCW was about to be voted on, the rep. for my district was leaning against. He had worked with my wife, so we knew each other. I called him up, and we discussed the hard facts. He voted in favor of La’s first shall-issue CCW legislation (which passed, BTW).
If she can't understand first principles of Second Amendment, she is UNPRICIPLED and very susceptable to saying one thing and doing another when she gets elected. I liked her speech at Tea Party Convention, but she is a GUN GRABBER!!! NEXT! NO THANK YOU ANGELA!!
Just another RINO (aka Right-wing Leftist). What do you expect? A Leftist, is a Leftist, is a Leftist. And a Leftist by any other name is a Leftist. Oy!
Well, I’ve been down the political roads for many decades, and I, too, have heard her speak at a Tea Party in the district. She’s impressive, but knowing something about her background, which includes time as a congressional staffer, I don’t think she arrives at her position out of ignorance. Besides that, we already have a declared candidate, a state senator who is a bona fide conservative who has the endorsement of Governor Haley Barbour. I think I’ll leave the effort to change her mind to others.
No, that means she is uneducated, like a large number of younger people today. If you present the facts, and she refuses to listen, THEN you can say she is "unprincipled". Unfortunately, blacks have a hard time understanding what the Second Amendment is all about. Tell her to call up Condeleeza Rice and talk about it.
How the hell are the Tea Party gigs getting HIJACKED so soon?? These friggin RINOS love to jump in from of the gravy train....
Why is it incumbant on the voter to ‘call her up, educate her, convince her?’ Sorry, it’s the other damn way around. If she’s for limiting 2A rights in any way, send her ass to the heap before she gets elected. Sorry, we can’t equivocate this time around. The stakes are just too damn high.
BTW I like Marines. I was one of those Airmen. About a hundred years ago.
Whoa, bump to this....
send her this:
David Kopel: How the right to arms saved the non-violent civil rights protesters

Later, I worked for years in the Deep South as a full-time civil rights organizer. Like a martyred friend of mine, NAACP staffer Medgar W. Evers, I, too, was on many Klan death lists and I, too, traveled armed: a .38 special Smith and Wesson revolver and a 44/40 Winchester carbine.
The knowledge that I had these weapons and was willing to use them kept enemies at bay. Years later, in a changed Mississippi, this was confirmed by a former prominent leader of the White Knights of the KKK when we had an interesting dinner together at Jackson.
In the 1970s, I was Southside director of the large, privately-funded Chicago Commons Association. Our primary focus involved assisting minority people in developing sensible community organizations vis-a-vis schools, city services, anti-crime.
We were opposed by white racist organizations (e.g., Nazi Party) and various youth gangs of many sorts. My staff and I received countless death threats, there were arson attacks on our offices, and, on one occasion, men with weapons came to my home and told my wife and children that they intended to kill me. (I happened to be at work.)
Again, I was glad I had many firearms and, again, we guarded our home and let this be known. We responded to hate calls on the telephone by telling the callers we were quite prepared for them.
For Salter, the right to own a handgun was apparently a crucial part of his ability to exercise his right to defend himself and his family, which was a sine qua non of his ability to stay alive in order to exercise his First Amendment rights to advocate for enforcement of the Fourteenth Amendment.
Angela is a Fox News contributor and an author...she was a democrat. Then she had ideas for improving inner city youth and black communities, but when she went to dem politicians with her ideas they were not interested, but the Republicans were interested....she then realized that the dems have no interest in seeing blacks better themselves and want them dependent....
This would explain her “moderate” or RINO views and tendencies...
the key for all of us is to support folks when they are right and call them out when they are wrong, but don’t become blind fans to anyone....that is what I call Fan Club Hollywood politics...it is no good for anyone....
People let us down.... none are perfect...but we also need to forgive sometimes when folks are wrong and not throw the baby out with the bath water....just like we do with people in our personal lives....know who to keep and who to avoid....
Can we get an IQ check on her before I comment. I don’t want to say anything bad about someone who may be impaired.
Wow, you sound like Dr. Phil.....
LOL!!
sorry—
my point is that I had many reasons to support Bush, and a lot of reasons he pissed me off....we have to be able to stick to issues, not personalities...
Same with Rush or Beck....I don’t agree with them on everything- both have ticked me off or disappointed me at times...but I don’t bash them... I continue to listen and support them and learn from them...
some folks get their feelings hurt, or disagree with a talkie or a candidate and jump to bash them....just silly to me....
this blind worship of people (or the letter by their name) is what got us into this mess....
I believe that the right to possess firearms arms is a right that is bestowed upon everyone. I do not believe that anyone, even convicted felons should be prevented from possessing or carrying firearms.
But I do believe that every crime committed with a firearm should be severely punished. Armed robbery, no less than a decade served behind bars. Armed robbery and someone gets injured a decade and a half served in prison before any parole. Someone dies, a few decades behind bars and that is if you get let out at all. Crimes with firearms where no one is injured and there is no criminal intent should be misdemeanors.
Wow. I listened to the whole thing. What a state-worshiping idiot.
Congress does not get to decide how many guns I get to own and if it is too many....not real complicated......
Angela is a big fat opportunist and time waster....
I must agree with you. Hope we can get the word out fast. “my daddy taught me to shoot when i was seven” - what’s that got to do with pigs in china?
she is totally clue-less on the issue.
And i almost liked her.
Because legislators, being only human, can only know so much about any given topic. They may in some cases be experts in limited areas, but it is impossible to be an expert in everything. It is up to those who are experts in the general public to make their expertise available. If folks in favor of gun rights don't, you can bet that the Brady Bunch will fill their ears with good-sounding but bogus "information".
if she doesn’t know already, it is too darn late my friend, if she is wanting to run on my side of politics. it’s almost like a mental disorder when you don’t fully understand the 2nd.
listen to it again...she’s blind on the issue.
THANK YOU!!!
Actually, I think you will find that your views on guns are exactly in line with what most Conservatives believe. I’m a pretty rabid pro-gun type, and I agree with you on every point you raised. Punish the criminals severely when convicted, and leave the rest of the populace alone.
You can vote for her if you’re predisposed to. I just happen to think that knowing something about the Second Amendment of our most basic document of governance is not ‘specialization’, nor does it require extraordinary study. This is a basic right, granted to us (along with other unalienable rights like freedom by God) and reinforced and elaborated on by the founders in this document. It isn’t rocket science. There isn’t much to wonder about the phrase “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED....” Any other explanation for this is just explaining away a tendency to RINOism.
I’m with you.
we need possible officials who can pass the test NOW!
That's ridiculous. The problem is not that she was lacking in knowledge of factual minutiae about guns or gun control. The 2nd Amendment is 26 words long, and that's all she needs to know about it. If her instincts are to yield additional power and authority to the government at the expense of the individual, that's 180 degrees off of what the Constitution says, and what the Tea Party movement is about.
And if it's unreasonable to expect would-be "legislators" to know even the Bill of Rights, what on earth SHOULD they know?
Does this chap your backside like it does mine? These two issues: guns / abortion, will tell you more about folks than any other. Stand hard on these and i can trust you with all i have. Waver just a bit, and i won’t trust you. period.
Wow, talk about being completely ignorant. angela has lost all credibility.
Since I don't live in Missippi, nor likely to ever, I'm in no position to vote for or against her.

I agree with pretty much all of the above, but lots of folks today are completely clueless about the Constitution, having never been taught, nor know how to educate themselves. In the face of that lack, it is up to those who ARE knowledgeable to make the effort to teach. If the student then refuses to learn, fail them.
Sure it's reasonable to expect that, but the facts on the ground are what they are. Most people (especially younger ones) have not been taught even the basic fundamentals of the Constitution.
If you listen to the YouTube video, she comes across as a BAD, very BAD listener and sounded like she had already made up her mind, even when challenged by the host on her stand.
She gave the opening speech at the Nashville Tea Party Convention for goodness sake! I don’t think she is a babe in the woods. She thought people were stockpiling guns because they were racist (anti-Obama) and expecting a freakin’ race war! WTF!
That's a perfectly sound argument for educating the ignorant masses of the electorate. Evaluating a Congressional candidate is a vastly different proposition.
Yeah, I listened to the tape. But a talk show is NOT the place to have a reasoned discussion. I say again...try reason, then decide. A LOT of people who felt just as strongly as she does have had their minds changed (some of them as a result of being victims of crime, but some not).
"She gave the opening speech at the Nashville Tea Party Convention for goodness sake! I dont think she is a babe in the woods. She thought people were stockpiling guns because they were racist (anti-Obama) and expecting a freakin race war! WTF!
Yes, but as I understand it, she started from a point of typical knee-jerk liberalism and has made the journey from there to the Tea Party. Which proves that she is at least somewhat reasonable when presented with facts on the ground. Invite her to a gun club meeting. Let her find out that gun-owners are "just folks".
Quite a few Congressional candidates are just as ignorant (in certain areas) as any recent high-school graduate.
Yes, and WE DO NOT NEED MORE OF THEM.
Big time ping!
This shouldn’t be a liberal issue or a conservative issue, this is a fundamental issue of privacy. The Government doesn’t have “rights”, the people do, such as the right to privacy. It is no one’s business but my own as to how many guns (if any) I have in my house. A gun is just a piece of wood and metal, the Government doesn’t need to know how much wood or metal I keep.
