Maricopa Co. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is urging GOPers to shelve Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in favor of ex-Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R), a challenger attacking from the right, in a new letter sent to primary voters.
"Senator McCain has served this country admirably but it's time to replace his moderate or even liberal positions on taxes, the border, social causes and big bank bailouts with a consistent conservative like J.D.," Arpaio writes in the letter. ""I just wish Senator McCain had run as hard against Barack Obama as he is against a conservative like J.D. That could have prevented the harmful, liberal agenda we are all now suffering through."

It’s too bad Palin will be on the wrong side of this one and will (hopefully - for America’s sake) be embarrassed by a J.D. win.

Unlike McCain, who is wealthy on his own, JD Hayworth gave up his livelihood to challenge McCain, so its important for all of us who cant vote in AZ to at least donate to JDs campaign. He's got my support! Go J.D.!

Mark Schauer is horrible.
Since most of us have stopped giving to the RNC, we will be donating to individuals such as Tim Walberg.

Unlike McCain, who is wealthy on his own who has nothing but dumped his crippled first wife so he could marry a wealthy, uncrippled younger woman. Fixed.

I like Palin, but I am puzzled why she decided not to finish her term as governor of Alaska. I also do not understand why she continues to support McQueeg, who apparently does not live up to her standards on a number of vitalconservative issues. As far as I can see, she owes nothing to the guy. It is time she stand on her principles with no apologies, and if she could just snicker and shrug off the continued attacks, the people would see that she refuses to stooop to the Preogressive’s low level.

As a former resident of Sierra Vista I am going to terminate my automatic donation to Sarah and direct it to JD.
I grew up an Army Brat so we landed at every nook and cranny all over the world. During my stint in the Army, I came to Ft. Huachuca from duty in Teheran and quickly felt like I was at home for the first time in my life. I have never lost my love of the desert southwest since even though my career has me in Florida for the time being.

Being on the other side if the country, I can’t knock on doors or hold signs at rallies, but I can send JD a check. That makes up for the distance and I can help a Conservative.

I know what you mean, Sarah Palin is the freshest breath of fresh air on the political spectrum in a very long time. Her support of McLame is very troubling, indeed.

JD will appreciate it and he can sure use the money.
I am hoping his campaign will have a money bomb day.
I also love Arizona and Nevada too. I like the desert.

Hes wealthy on his own. Cindy keeps her money separate. Okay, I guess you're mostly right. He's comfortable based on his Senate salary and what he earns from his investments. I see that his mother's family had money. Even so, he's a pauper compared to his wife.
Sheldon Alberts, "McCain, Heiress Wife Worth Almost $100 Million", Canwest News Service, 21 August 2008. John McCain's personal tax return reported $259K income in 2007, with Cindy McCain's last publicly released tax return, 2006, reported $6M in taxable income.
