KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Officials say a Tennessee elementary school principal is in critical condition after she and an assistant principal were shot and wounded by a co-worker at their office. The shooting at Inskip Elementary School in Knoxville happened Wednesday afternoon about an hour after all the children were dismissed for a snow day. Forty-eight-year-old Mark Stephen Foster is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Police say Foster was a co-worker, but wouldn't say what his job was. The school's Web site identifies Foster as a fourth-grade teacher. University of Tennessee Medical Center officials said Principal Elisa Luna was in critical condition and Assistant Principal Amy Brace was in stable condition. A school spokeswoman says classes are canceled for the rest of the week.

bump. Thanks for the research.
Local news in Memphis glossed over it. We can expect to see more of this if Obamanomics keeps destroying the economy.
The last name of Foster is common in this area.
No! I wouldn't have believed it. [/s]
All sides of this story need to be investigated. What were the principals doing (really)? Why are items being posted here about this teacher's mental instability and he was still allowed to teach school? Why would he shoot two principals and not make sure he killed them since he has totally screwed up his life anyway and will probably lose it in the electric chair? Why did this individual not seek other employment if the job was creating these kinds of problems? Was the teacher a Muslim? What religious background did the gunman have? What other shootings of school personnel by school personnel have we had in this country?
Oh, thanks for that post.
So, what happens when the unqualified and incompetent fire on the unqualified and incompetent?
From the article.
McIntyre said the school didn’t intend to rehire Foster next term.
Ya think!?!
Life is full of risks and we can't eliminate all danger, but and we should start making and doing the right things and bring GOD back into our schools and government.
Oh no you're not going to bring God back. The individual who tries to do so will be terminated.
When I was between 6-9 I lived in the Inskip area in Knoxville. We moved back to Anderson County after that. I definitely went to high school with the shooter & his brother. Both were several years behind me. I checked my year book. Although his address was Clinton he lived outside the city limits close to the interstate. He went to Norris High.
The judge who quashed the restraining order his brother tried to obtain needs booted out when his term is up. Hopefully voters won't forget. Not all of us are fortunate enough to have armed guards at our beckoning call like some judges in Clinton are. But restraining orders are really pretty useless anyway. All they're good for is documenting a problem.
Also had Knox County Schools done a better background through Anderson County Sheriffs Dept {as in a simple phone call} they may have gotten an early heads up before the hire. Dispatchers have records of calls to residence and any unusual circumstances the responding officer may need to know. They also know about restraining orders. That shooting was highly preventable.
