There is no objection to a recess appointment. The only good part is that it would expire when the new Congress convenes next January.

No, it doesn't expire until the end of the next session of Congress (Constitution, Art. II, sec. 2, cl. 3).

You may be right but the Repubs do best as the opposition party in the minority. They lose their cahones when they win elections.

“Most hateful president I can think of in my lifetime.”

I’m an avid student of history. ObaMao is not only the most hateful president in my lifetime, he is the most hateful president in American history. The utter contempt he has for this country is staggering in its scope, and is manifest in virtually every action he takes. It is not coincidental. It is intentional.

John Bolton was appointed in August, 2005 and his appointment ended when the new Congress convened in January, 2007. I agree, the reading is ambiguous.

...yes, not in January 2006.

What type of person refers to a person as a container? Someone who would gladly point the way to a gas chamber, and remind the mothers to take their babes in arms.

Correct, the next Congress was seated in January, 2007 after the 2006 elections. If Obama makes a recess appointment now, the next Congress begins in January, 2011.

I don't think the Republicans can do that with a 41 vote minority.

You need to remember the rats contolled the Senate during the last years of the Bush presidency. So they could easily keep the Senate in session. However, since the pubs are not in control, I do not think they can keep the Senate in session. The rats leadership will not let them.

Both parties abuse the “recess appointment” provision, but this case would be more egregious than most.

Wow! Reminds me of something I read having been blurted out during an exorcism. Johnsen’s statement out-Herods Herod.

..... This woman sounds to me like she is a “fecal container” herself.

but if they don’t agree to recess, there can be no recess appointments. doubt the pubs would have the cojones, but you can bet the dems would do so, in our position.
