Medina Campaign: Dead End?
Gateway Pundit/ First Things Blog ^ | Feb 11, 2010 | Jim Hoft

This was a textbook case on how to end a campaign in one interview. Tea Party candidate Debra Medina imploded today on the Glenn Beck radio show. The Republcian candidate for governor is a 9-11 Truther. She said questions still remain. Trail Blazers reported:

TV and radio commentator Glenn Beck dismissed the candidacy of Debra Medina when she left open the door to a conspiracy fringe group that believe the U.S. government might have been behind the 9-11 destruction of the World Trade Center.

Beck, a leading personality for conservatives, asked her point blank if she believed such a theory.

“I don’t have all the evidence there, Glenn,” Medina replied. “So I’m not in a place – I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There’s some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there so I’ve not taken a position there.”

He then asked if she would disavow people on her campaign team that held such a theory.

“I’m certainly not into mind control or thought policing people,” Medina said. “I don’t see us having a team of radical individuals, if you will.”

When she signed off the program, Beck let out a long Oooh.

too bad for her...how did she think she’d be able to cover it up? Beck just railed on Jones for this exact thing...Conversatives would have looked like the biggest hypocrites if they’d voted for her. She just wasted a lot of people’s time and money.

True, but she didn't disavow those who do, and seemingly agreed with them.

I know, I know, "seemingly".

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Campaign, threatened with coming in 3rd before the trainwreck, has wasted no time splicing the interview into a robocall.

At least we won’t have a bunch of Freepers bashing Sarah Palin for not endorsing her now.

But Palin has endorsed Rand Paul in Kentucky. Does Rand Paul believe in 9/11 Trutherism? Perhaps Beck will ask him next. We shall see.

OK, not only is Debra Medina a Paulbot, she’s either a 9-11 Truther or a fellow traveler. Here’s the audio from her 4-minute interview with Glenn Beck: http://www.therightscoop.com/debra-medina-is-a-911-truther/

So, Rick Perry doesn’t look so bad anymore, huh? : )

Beck, a leading personality for conservatives,

Since when is Glen Beck a "leading personality" for conservatives?

Cripes Almighty, all he is is another dumbed-down radio talk show shock jock doing hatchet jobs for a paycheck.
The dipwad doesn't even have the jouralistic credentials or integrity of a biased liberal buffoon like Keith Olbermann.

yeah she made the right call here. But Rand Paul is an even bigger Paultard than Medina.

People around here are being extraordinary naive.

More than anything, we owe Beck a word of thanks for asking the RIGHT question.

He asked her a question, and she answered. Not really a hatchet job.

where were all you medina supporters at when Van Jones was getting hammered for being a truther?? And no I’m no Jones supporter but if your going to be consistent then there should have some freepers supporting Jones “questioning of the goverment” and I don’t recall any.

She was doing pretty good up to that point. I liked what she had to say. She was talking about having a consumption tax vs. the high property tax. Then boom, it all ended with one question.

I will say one thing in her defense. I would not automatically fire someone who was a 9/11 truther in my administration. As long as they are not policy makers and do not go public and damage my administration. If some secretary in my administration believes it, I really don’t care. That’s their business.

“Not really a hatchet job.”

Perry is a RINO and will disappoint folks—guaranteed.

We have shot at electing someone who will represent our values in Medina.

She will not cave like Perry does.

But, hey, if the same ‘ol half-*ss Republican is what you wish for, then Perry is the RINO for you.

I know who 0bama would vote for, if had to make the choice.

Well, she was surprised,OK, but it hints at her convictions. If she thought the Truthers were moonbats and the whole theory ludicrous, she would have popped that out instead of this “better look into it” stuff.

So, Medina, how about dynamiting levies in NOLA? Or, to go back a ways, which studio do you think the moon landings were filmed in? Global Warming Consensus, yes or no?

There’s no pressure when you’re writing in a blog, now is there?
