Medina Campaign: Dead End?
Gateway Pundit/ First Things Blog ^ | Feb 11, 2010 | Jim Hoft

This was a textbook case on how to end a campaign in one interview. Tea Party candidate Debra Medina imploded today on the Glenn Beck radio show. The Republcian candidate for governor is a 9-11 Truther. She said questions still remain. Trail Blazers reported:

TV and radio commentator Glenn Beck dismissed the candidacy of Debra Medina when she left open the door to a conspiracy fringe group that believe the U.S. government might have been behind the 9-11 destruction of the World Trade Center.

Beck, a leading personality for conservatives, asked her point blank if she believed such a theory.

“I don’t have all the evidence there, Glenn,” Medina replied. “So I’m not in a place – I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There’s some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there so I’ve not taken a position there.”

He then asked if she would disavow people on her campaign team that held such a theory.

“I’m certainly not into mind control or thought policing people,” Medina said. “I don’t see us having a team of radical individuals, if you will.”

When she signed off the program, Beck let out a long Oooh.

Medina’s response to that question is another anecdotal example of the stupidity of politicians.

Just because a politician has conservative tendancies, does not make a politician brilliant.

Too many politicians are dumb as rocks.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, since I don’t live in Texas. But I think her answer does give an indication of her thought processes.

And another thing, how many of you Perry supporters have looked at the engineering and architectural findings and evidence of the 911 remains? If you haven’t, you are still uninformed. I don’t believe that the Bush administration had anything to do with 911. But before one can point fingers, one must know all the facts.

So unless you personally have combed through every scrap of the 10-mile high pile of evidence, your opinion is invalid? That's absurd.

No sir. She blew it. This a more than a little like those who question whether FDR knew that the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbour, or that Stanton was involved in Lincoln’s murder.

You were saying ...

At least we won’t have a bunch of Freepers bashing Sarah Palin for not endorsing her now.

Ain't that the truth... :-)

I am a Texan now, so yes....get a vote.

What amazes me I see lot of people supporting Medina on varioius message boards, saying Beck took her comments out of context.

Frankly, I don’t know how you can take out of context a women saying she couldn’t take a position on whether the government was involved in 9/11.

She said she felt ambushed, but it was a question that should have been a slam dunk and would have dispelled rumors already out there from what I understand about her being a truther.

She failed the test miserably.

“But Palin has endorsed Rand Paul in Kentucky. Does Rand Paul believe in 9/11 Trutherism? Perhaps Beck will ask him next. We shall see. “

he probably does but he’s very clever.

Alex Jones “You’re basically what I would call a chip off the old block. Your policies are basically identical to your father, correct?”

Rand Paul “I’d say we’d be very very similar. We might present the message sometimes differently.. I think in some ways the message has to be broadened and made more appealing to the entire Republican electorate because you have to win a primary.”

I’m not foolish enough to believe politicians are all benevolent and moral. I’m not foolish enough to think my government would not wipe out 3,000 Americans under any circumstances.

But that isn't the question, the question is whether the Gov't was actively involved in the 9/11 catastrophe. And not just through a lack of competence, but involved. If you believe that and are not in the streets raising hell, you are no patriot.

To believe that YOUR government is not capable of such a thing is foolish,

A big gov't in the US is capable of anything. But only to the extent that the people allow it. The knuckleheads promoting this policy have nothing but conspiracy theories, belonging on C2C AM.

My congress criminal is Alcie Hastings.
Former federal judge, Impeached for taking bribes in a large drug bust.
Black criminal in a gerry mandered congressional district made to insure a black guy in congress.
But hey I don’t want to hang all of congress, just the vast majority.

I don’t have to know how my plumbing works to know it does. Just as I don’t have to know every scrap of evidence available out there to know George W. Bush and our government did not seek to murder 3000 of its own citizens.

Stop it.

There is no pressure to be felt over this question unless of course a) you believe it or be) you know your base without whom you are nothing believes it. Either way she’s toast and she should be. I don’t tolerate this from the left and I’m sure as hell not tolerating it from Ron Paul and his crazy followers either.

If Texans don’t like their choices in the Governor’s race then go find SANE conservatives to challenge them. Not nutjobs.

To believe they are capable is not to say that they actually did it, but absent evidence, it ought not to be said by someone seeking the governorship. As for Perry, the facts is, as Aristotle said a long time ago, those who own the wealth of a country own the government. The best change of liberty is when the ownership is divided into factions and must appeal to the people to decide between them.
