February 12, 2010 Blackwater 'Defrauded US By Billing For Prostitute In Kabul'

Tim Reid The controversial American security firm Blackwater is facing new allegations of gross misconduct after two former employees said the firm repeatedly defrauded the US Government, including billing it for the use of a Filipina prostitute in Afghanistan.

In a federal lawsuit Melan Davis, one of the former employees, accused the security firm of employing the prostitute in Kabul, and billing the Government for her aircraft tickets and monthly salary under the “morale welfare recreation” expenses category.

The lawsuit also accuses the firm, which has since been renamed XE Services after years of bad publicity, of billing the federal Government for the use of strippers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. The women were expensed under “cleaning services”, according to the lawsuit.

The form is also accused of deceiving the US Government by double-billing for travel costs and creating false invoices. It says that the Government “has been damaged in the amount of many millions of dollars in funds” by Blackwater’s fraudulent accounting.

The most serious allegations against Blackwater, the biggest private security firm used by the US Government in Iraq and Afghanistan, have centred on the use of excessive and lethal force against civilians.

The most controversial incident involved the shooting deaths of 17 Iraqi civilians in Nisoor Square in Baghdad in September 2007. Late last year a US judge threw out charges against five Blackwater guards charged over the deaths. The Obama administration has said it is going to appeal that ruling. A sixth guard earlier pleaded guilty.

The firm has also been accused of arms smuggling.

Just trying to stimulate the local economy in an ancient land and hiring someone from the oldest profession.

Do you think the $787B TARP program had a “morale welfare recreation” expenses category?

UN aid workers specialize in underage prostitutes. I suspect these ex-workers have been bought off by the folks who want to kill Blackwater.

I wonder how much expense funds they’re getting for sexual services now, in their new job as rats.

“The controversial American security firm Blackwater...”

####

I love how the media reports on propaganda they helped create.

Here is some return fire:

“The controversial US Department of Education....”

“The controversial Obama Administration...”

“Controversial media outlet, CBS...”

“The hugely controversial and self-serving findings of climate-change scientists...”

YAWN.

Another Blackwater hit-piece, based on nothing but two (married) former employees who stand to gain a percentage of any monetary judgement under whistle-blowers laws.
