NEAR MARJAH, Afghanistan – Helicopter-borne U.S. Marines and Afghan troops swooped down on the Taliban-held town of Marjah before dawn Saturday, launching a long-expected attack to re-establish government control and undermine support for the militants in their southern heartland.

Hope we’ve studied the lessons of Fallujah this time (e.g.: don’t have your commanders unilaterally declare a brazen cease-fire when the city is almost cleared, so that you have to launch an attack all over again in a few months). Let’s go get ‘em.

Apparently, the area is full of canals built years ago to assist the area to help out the agricultural side of things, and now, we will need to be more careful as we delouse the place.

But, I'm wonderin' what the ROE is....
It won’t compare to the second Fallujah but hopefully our Marines can take most of them out quickly and effectively with few casualties on our side. Lord willing.
