Medina Campaign Responds to Glenn Beck Interview
MedinaForTexas.com ^ | February 11, 2010 | Debra Medina

Posted on 02/12/2010 9:43:36 PM PST by kingattax

I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement.

I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11.

I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way.

No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.

The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty.

It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.

The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it's Rick Perry and his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout.

It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government.

Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway.

I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that's the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.

Way too little, way too late ...

>> I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that’s the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.

She shouldn’t “fully expect” to do anything a Governor.

As for people questioning their government — all questions are not created equal.

"The question surprised me..."

Easy answer, "Jihad is not the answer", "No way bro.".

IOW, she's a mealy-mouthed liar.

What’s that, Debra? Sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of your campaign imploding.

GLENN: Right. Here’s then let me be more frank and ask you the question: Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?

MEDINA: I don’t, I don’t have all of the evidence there, Glenn. So I don’t I’m not in a place, I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all of the evidence there. So I’ve not taken a position on that.

GLENN: I think the people of America might think that might be a yes.

MEDINA: Well

GLENN: Do you have advisors, do you have advisor

MEDINA: I’m not going to take a position.

GLENN: That’s fine.

MEDINA: These questions have been raised and they are not answered.

Thank God, Beck did not ask her who bombed Pearl Harbor - a question even less relevant to "the issues facing Texans" and therefore even more surprising...

She’s using the Ward Churchill excuse. Yes, everyone has a duty and a right to question government. So what? Doesn’t mean promoting idiotic conspiracy theories is a good thing.

I was seriously thinking about voting for Medina until this truther stuff came up. Thank you, Glenn Beck, even if it does mean that now I’m stuck with voting for move-it-on-down-the-road Perry again.

Her answer was troubling.

But Beck’s followup was idiotic. He mocked her because Truthers (and presumably she) believe that “our government can do evil.” He claimed that she would be a danger to the President, if she were allowed to get near him, because of her belief that “our government can do evil.”

Beck never heard about the fifty-five million dead babies since 1973?

Well, perhaps she can overcome this with some media help from her buddy Alex Jones.

Sure, you have the right to question your government. But if your belief is that our gvernment murdered 3000 of its own citizens you also have the right to be denounced and shunned. Medina sure doesn’t seem to have an interest in shunning them does she? Why is that Medina. Either because you believe it or because your entire campaign is propped up by these people.

Maybe you should challenge Ron Paul since his constituents seem okay with this lunacy. It’s the only political office you stand a chance of winning now.

I heard it Medina...you sounded like a idiot! Nothing worse than a politician trying to dance around a question and doing a really really bad job of it!

When Beck asked her "Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?", she stammered a bit and finished by saying, "So I’ve not taken a position on that."

Now, a few hours later she says, "I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way."

So which is it?

Doesn't really matter at this point what she really believes. All I know is that her campaign is ready for the butter and jam, because she is TOAST. And people were jumping on Palin for not backing her. If Sarah had backed her, you can bet the MSM would now be doing 24/7 coverage of "Palin backs 911 Truther for Texas Governor".
