LOL;

“To the Kay Bailey Hutchison and Rick Perry campaigns — “Celebrate good times, come on …”
To the rest of us (especially my confreres in Texas) it’s proof that politicians and kids say the darndest things and some of these things are good to know before you start pulling the lever for one of them.

My theory is Beck acted alone, there was no grassy knoll, and he didn’t even know it was loaded.

It is clear from the outset Beck doesn’t want to do this interview. He has been dragged to it, like Nathan Detroit to the prayer meeting, but is resolved to get through it in workmanlike fashion.

The interview ticks along, and then he asks that first question about her being a 9/11 Truther. It’s hard to tell on this recording, but he is probably stealing a bite of his Danish waiting for what he knows will be a boilerplate denial. None is forthcoming.

Beck carefully puts down the Danish and asks directly:

GLENN: Right. Here’s then let me be more frank and ask you the question: Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?

MEDINA: I don’t, I don’t have all of the evidence there, Glenn. So I don’t I’m not in a place, I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all of the evidence there. So I’ve not taken a position on that.

Beck’s head snaps back and to the right … back and to the right.

Amid the sound of Claxton’s and sirens, Beck remains composed – ignoring the full cup of coffee he has just dropped into his lap – and asks a series of follow-up questions. Medina’s further circumlocution on the subject confirms to Beck (and a few gazillion listeners) that, no, it wasn’t just an ear-wax problem – Medina is either sympathetic to that line of thinking or deeply confused.
My money is on “all of the above.”

The interview ends awkwardly, like a date that has gone terribly wrong (“um, no, really, I’ll call you tomorrow”), and Glenn’s wrap up remarks reflect the nervous relief of someone who has just double-locked the front door.

Medina’s people issued a clarification statement the same day, which in terms of damage control, has to rate right up there with “we’ve lost all power to the engines but we are opening up the bar.”

Let’s be clear here. “What were you doing with that sheep in the motel room?” is a gotcha question. “Are you a 9/11 Truther,” is not. Beck wasn’t lying in ambush, he was probably thinking about lunch, or perhaps the rising prices of blackboard chalk. He thought was doing a by-the-numbers interview, and was doubtless the most surprised guy in the room when the panel-lights all turned red.

Medina’s inability to cleanly field that question is troubling, and no amount of spin is going to make that go away.”

Well, the Ron Paul/Medina mob kept barraging Beck with phone calls to have Medina on until he did. He had many calls from viewers asking him to ask her if she was a 'truther'. He did. Now, they are blaming Beck and Perry for 'sand-bagging' her.

I don't believe for a minute that she was 'set up'- but what if she was? At least we got a deal-breaker bit of info that could save us from disaster. Putting up 'truther' Medina against the Democratic candidate would be suicide.

“That's not the question I heard,” Medina said. She said she thought he was asking about whether citizens should question their government. SAY WHAT?? How plain did Beck have to make it? It was a simple question; do you or do you not believe our government was responsible for 9/11?? All she had to do- as any rational, sane person would do- is answer a simple 'no'.

This idea that Beck (or anybody else) sabotaged Medina is absurd. If you can’t answer “did the govt have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks?” you're not be fit to run for dogcatcher.

For God's sake, have any of you really looked into her platform- her background? Has this woman even been vetted?

She wants legalized drugs.

She backs gay marriage.

She has not spoken to her elderly parents for YEARS. They had to find out she was runing for governor of Texas by reading the newspaper!

http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/medina-hailing-from-beeville-learned-political-skills-on-229907.html?srcTrk=RTR_95609 What does this say about this woman's character? And rumors are begin to surface about husband Noe's past associations.

Take a look at some of the statements she has made: "It’s a shame isn’t it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?’

"Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?”

"Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.”

"I believe we too often get into race when it’s immaterial.” (Obummer, is that you?)

I don't believe for one minute Medina's propaganda about wanting to strengthen the border! La Raza probably has her in their back pocket!

Glenn Beck has once again helped the tea-party stay in the Republican mainstreamby by weeding out dangerous fringe thinkers like Medina.

Medina is NOT representative of the Tea Party movement. She USED them- latched herself on to them. She’s a hard core Libertarian who has realized that the Libertarian Party will never win anything and that the only possible way to get herself into office is to do what Ron Paul did and wrap herself in the Republican cloak in hopes that it will fool enough of the voters enough of the time. Thank God Glen Beck outed her in time.

Retrieve your sombrero from the ring and go home Medina. You're Texas toast.

The woman is angry that she dropped her mask during an on air interview with a self proclaimed rodeo clown. ... That clown happens to be spot on the vast majority of the time. He should be, he has a top rate research team.

The media has so promoted Palin by what? Ridiculing her? Smearing her?

Before most Americans knew who she was they used tactics such as claiming she was for charging rape victims for their forensic examinations in Alaska (even tho prior to a change in the law the personnel in the local hospital decided who to bill rather than government.

You need to lay off of the crack pipe.

You ask goldstategop “who side are you on?”

You get 3 guesses and the first two don’t count.

You’ve got to be hosing us.

Voting for a candidate is not just about voting for a slate of issue positions, it’s about a person. This person will be in charge of the safety and well-being of 25 million people, and she believes in conspiracy theories that belong on the front of the Weekly World News. Do you really believe a person with such poor discernment will evaluate evidence and arguments properly and make good decisions?

Except where she couldn’t name an important supreme court case she didn’t agree with other than Roe v Wade and also could not name a newspaper she read (she just said ‘all of them’).

Call me when they ask Obama questions like that instead ofr asking him to pick college basketball games.

I think she was totally unprepared for that type question and not being a polished politician didn’t think on her feet fast enough to give a cogent answer.

Male bovine feces. No adult with a working brain needs to be polished to to know whether they think 9/11 is some kind of mystery or not.

Were you aware, BTW, that Medina thought no NYPD officers were lost at the WTC?

There are a lot of unanswered questions about the 9-11 attack

Such as?

Voting for a candidate is not just about voting for a slate of issue positions, it’s about a person.

Yep. That's why I'm voting for her. She's the only one in the race who might be telling the truth about being for smaller government. We don't have to speculate about Perry and Hutchison.

I don't care about the flubbed "truther" question. When Palin was put on the spot she couldn't name a single newspaper she had read; and if I get the chance I'll vote for her too.

This person will be in charge of the safety and well-being of 25 million people...

Safety? From what? She's just running for governor in a weak governor state. Are you afraid she might commute a death sentence or something? The Attorney General in Texas is elected in his own right.

Besides, liberty is more important than safety. I have a gun after all.
